Medium Opt-Ins

I'm going to put most of my medium opt-ins here because what I have to say from fandom to fandom is usually about the same for each of them!

Written

• Medium Opt-In: Bureaucratic Paperwork
  • Scum Villain, TGCF, MDZS: They all probably have so much paperwork. Some of them as a regular thing they're inundated with, others as something they have to occasionally (possibly badly) fill out. Su Xiyan's mission reports while meeting with Tianlang-jun could be really fun in a "She's saying one thing but you can read between the lines and realize she was actually treating her demon boyfriend at the time" sort of way! Lan Qiren is probably tired of Nie Huaisang's paperwork before he even has to start dealing with it (or maybe after becoming sect leader, NHS surprises him by being competent with it!) Shen Qingqiu's paperwork is probably straight up strange in how it changes from Shen Jiu to Shen Yuan. Ling Wen and Shang Qinghua are obviously both drowning in it and have to deal with however everyone else submits it. Mu Qingfang probably is too. Quan Yizhen's paperwork may or may not even be filled out except for him saying what he wants on what may or may not be the write template (Or maybe he's constantly submitting requests for help finding Yin Yu and they get more and more competently filled out as he keeps putting them in).
  • For the ones that need to be shippy, it could either be part of the paperwork (e.g. mission reports that start out snippy about the other person and change in tone in later reports), margin notes that are flirty or state/imply it, response notes that state/imply it, reports that don't directly state it but the content implies it with canon knowledge and shipping goggles on, or something else I haven't thought of!
• Medium Opt-In: Epistolary
  • All Requested Fandoms.
  • I love stories told through letters/emails, or letters/emails included as part of a wider story! Whether between the two people involved, between them and also other people, just to other people, or something an outsider POV is sending.
• Medium Opt-In: Bestiary
  • Scum Villain: This canon has to have insane bestiaries. Obviously Shen Yuan would dive right into one, but even for non-him pairings there are probably a lot of interesting ways to do it. Do demons have their own way of doing it? Does An-Ding have a bestiary that basically boils down to "Collect things from, collect things from after someone else fights it, avoid, run immediately"? Does Bai Zhan have to scribble down notes from the very long and detailed bestiary entries they get from Qing Jing because they only need the "How to fight and what to bring home" portion? Do other peaks send reports of new animals in to get identified?
• Medium opt-in: In-Universe Poetry
  • All Requested Fandoms
  • Love poems, serious poems, silly poems, Shang Qinghua making up passive aggressive little haikus, Shen Jiu halfway finishing poems and then stopping suddenly because they aren't perfect, random poems that may or may not perfectly fit the line requirements on whiteboards in Prey, MEA characters swapping poetry with the Angara, Assassins using poetry to send secret messages, Ling Wen scribbling poems in her spare time, Nie Huaisang integrating poetry more and more into Nie life, all the different attitudes to poetry there could be in SWTOR colliding in the Alliance, there's so many ways poetry could come up in all of these <3
• Medium Opt-In: In-Universe Complaint Form
  • All Requested Fandoms
  • I just love complaints, whether justified or not, petty or not. Either from one of the requested characters or potentially outsider POV about the requested characters.
  • For some of my fandoms where it wouldn't make sense to have a standardized complaint form, I still put the medium because the idea of someone making a complaint form and giving it to the person they're complaining about or a senior just makes me laugh (and would be very in character for some of them)
• Medium Opt-In: Interactive Fiction
  • All Requested Fandoms
  • Death: I like temporary death! But unless the IF is clearly framed as a time loop situation please don't end any path with them permanently dead. (Prey is an exception to this.) Currently dead with the implication that they will be not-dead in the near future is fine though! Ghost-based endings in canons with ghosts or resurrections are also fine!
  • Multiple pairings: I tend to prefer IF that focuses on a single pairing, rather than having multiple pairings as optional endings. EXCEPTION: Requested threesomes can be split into all of their legs, including the non-POV characters getting together without the POV character. I'm also fine with one pairing being the "focus" and threesomes being created for some endings by adding other characters I've requested with one of them (e.g. If the IF is focused on Ezio/Desmond, you could also have Ezio/Desmond/Yusuf ending(s))
  • Bad Endings: I'd rather not get anything with a horrifying permanent bad ending (such as Shen Jiu being tortured to death by Luo Binghe) because that will be what sticks with me even if the other endings are good. Not-ideal type bad endings (character didn't get what they wanted, failed at whatever they're trying, got banished, got captured in a way that doesn't preclude eventual escape, had to flee, didn't get with their LI, got stuck in another dimension, died and transmigrated/resurrected, ect) are totally fine though!
  • Otherwise please have fun with it! I'm fine however you want to frame it whether it's plot focused or pairing focused, and whether it's mostly gen endings with one get together ending or a lot of alternate get togethers!
• Medium Opt-In: Official Workplace Documentation
  • SVSSS, TGCF
  • Any documents that they have to follow, whether that's rules, guidelines, instructions, ect.
  • Since I'm only requesting pairings or characters, I'd suggest marking them up with marginalia (unless it's a document made because of a character/pairing)

Art

• Medium Opt-In: Coat of Arms/Heraldic Crest
  • All Requested Fandoms
  • I just think these would be really cool, especially since so many of the characters I'm requesting have a lot of symbolism to them.
  • For the ones that need to be shippy, either completely combining the pairing into one coat of arms/crest or having it mostly for the one character with hints at the other character both seem like good solutions! Or having separate ones and then a combined one!
• Medium Opt-In: Maps
  • Scum Villain, TGCF, Assassin's Creed
  • I'd love either more official looking maps or marked up versions of official looking maps, or scribbled maps that the characters made themselves. I just really love maps.
  • SVSSS suggestions: The whole region and/or demon realm, the different cities, maps specifically meant for gathering things in the wilds that mostly brush past the cities to focus on the gathering spots, marked up versions of nice clean maps, focused maps of Cang Qiong, the peaks, or the other sects, Binghe's attempt at mapping out the endless abyss while trying to find his way out. There's a lot that could be mapped!
  • TGCF suggestions: The heavens, the ghost city, Xie Lian's little town, any of the cities that come up or Xie Lian's old sect, Hua Cheng marking up a map as he tries to find Xie Lian during the 800 years, Ling Wen keeping a magical map of active missions, a farming focused map of Rainmasters territory, Shi Wudu's no doubt meticulous map of rivers and who owes him what, Pei Ming's attempts at finding Pei Su, whatever maps Xie Lian managed to hold onto for a bit during the 800 years, or anything else that makes sense!
  • Assassin's Creed suggestions: We've already got the overhead city maps, and some of the building maps, but those are very much for a player POV and don't have the personalization that an In-Universe map would have. Maps drawn how they would be in those time periods would be really cool, or maps that they're taking with them on missions or using to plan out missions (whether region/city/mission area wide).
• Medium Opt-In: Weapon Schematics
  • Prey: We already have things for some weapons (like the nerf dart gun) and I would love either something silly along those lines, or something much more serious that had to be thrown together after the outbreak started. Or something postgame as they keep making new things.
  • Assassin's Creed: They have so many weapons that they customize so much. Any schematics of those would be so very fun.

• Medium Opt-In: Excerpts from a Character's Journal/Notebook/Sketchbook
  • All Requested Fandoms
  • I'd be happy with anything from a diary entry to a sketchbook page to a more mixed media excerpt! The characters I requested could each have such interesting notes/sketches whether it's in a physical journal or on a datapad.

 

 

Modao Zushi

Lan Qiren/Nie Huaisang

• Someone got me stuck on this pairing and now I can't stop shipping it.
• They're so very different, even disregarding NHS's deliberate persona, and it probably drives LQR insane when he has to deal with it. But NHS probably is handling the important things at least well enough to prevent disaster, even if he's still holding himself out as somewhat of a fool, and LQR might actually notice that. Especially if he's specifically keeping an eye out for messups and isn't finding them. (Especially if NHS really strangely doesn't look like as much of a disaster as he appears to LXC)
• Prompts:
• Them having to deal with each other in an official capacity after NHS becomes sect leader.
• NHS flirting to draw LQR's attention away from something and it working well better than he expected.
• Arranged marriage AU. Either NMJ lives and NHS being paired up with LQR for some reason, or the opposite happening and LQR comes to live with the Nie.
• The shift of things after the book is over and NHS is starting to actually openly act more responsible. He's supposed to eventually become Head Cultivator, so there has to be a shift.
• NHS mentally time travelling backwards, and either LQR noticing something is off or NHS deciding that he needs a co-conspirator this time to prevent his brother from dying and picking LQR.

 

 

Scum Villain's Self Saving System

Liu Qingge/&Original Shen Qingqiu | Jiu

• I'm fine with either gen or / for these two!
• They're just such argumentative messes that really do not understand each other, mostly because of all the assumptions they've made about each other. I love how quickly LQG swaps his behavior when given reason to question his assumptions, and I feel like SJ wouldn't know what to do with that considering he actively enforces some of those misunderstandings.
• Prompts:
• One of them having to save/rescue the other on a mission.
• Harassing each other on a mission that's supposed to be a nice safe one.
• SJ saving LQG in the caves (or in some other situation), and subsequently having to deal with LQG trying to be nice.
• Either of them mentally time travelling back to do things differently
• Different meeting type divergences, like SJ not going to Cang Qiong (or even Yue Qi not going to Cang Qiong), roleswaps between LQG and SJ, AUs where they're both demons or the peaks are separate sects, ect.
• SJ getting poisoned with Without A Cure and having to deal with LQG cleansing his meridians.

Liu Qingge/Mu Qingfang/Original Shen Qingqiu | Shen Jiu

• I ship every bit of this individually so combining it just makes sense.
• I don't know if MQF would really be a stabilizing influence, considering how quick he is to throw himself into figuring out a thing, but he's definitely smart enough to keep up with SJ and respectable enough that LQG will listen to him. I'm fine with either all of them getting together at once, or for one set of them to be together first and pull the last in. Or for one set to have a casual thing that solidifies when pulling in the third.
• Prompts:
• Both LQG and SJ ending up very injured (but alive) after the cave incident, and MQF having to deal with them while getting them back to health.
• Things going very differently as disciples for all of them.
• One of them mentally time travelling backwards to before everything goes to hell (or from when he died, for LQG) and somehow ending up in a threesome from it.
• All sorts of canon divergences. SJ not going to Cang Qiong, *Yue Qi* not going to Cang Qiong, different meetings, or even straight up AUs like the peaks each being separate sects or roleswap with them all being demons.
• Some strange non-sexual qi event happens that results in SJ getting mpregnant with MQF and LQG's kid, and they step up way more than he expects (and probably more than he wants at first), probably with a bunch of misunderstandings on the way.

Liu Qingge/Shen Qingqiu | Shen Yuan

• Their whole dynamic in the book is just so fun, with bickering and arguing but also Liu Qingge is loyal to a fault and always there for Shen Qingqiu. It's such a great balance. Also the whole meridian cleansing thing is so very relevant to my interests.
• Prompts
• Canon divergences! Small ones that just slightly change the book like a different meeting or a slightly different transmigration time. Or big ones like Shen Yuan transmigrating into a different role (whether OC or a named character) or Shen Yuan transmigrating into Shen Jiu early enough and system less (or at least ruleless) enough that he can significantly change where he ends up.
• Roleswap, whether that's based on the original and Liu Qingge swapping origins, Liu Qingge being the transmigrator, or the cultivators swapping with demons.
• Time travel. Maybe Shen Qingqiu goes back deliberately, maybe the sun and dew flower is actually a very different flower and sends him back in time instead of making a new body. Or maybe it's Liu Qingge who travels back during those five years to try to keep Shen Qingqiu alive this time.
• Just things in their canon situation (except with this relationship as endgame) like going on a mission or h/c or just day to day bickerflirting.

Mobei-jun/Shang Qinghua

• They're both such disasters. SQH wears his disaster on his face, but MBJ only barely manages to keep his disaster hidden! They're both trying so hard and really needed a sit down (which SQH's outburst finally got them at the end). That scene where SQH launches himself off with a sword he can barely fly to catch MBJ is just perfect.
• Prompts:
• Shang Qinghua running into some plot device that he's about to really regret writing (or maybe it'll work out way better than expected!)
• Holidays/other events that Shang Qinghua made up
• All sorts of roleswaps and canon divergences
• Tropey plots like time travel/loop or arranged marriages
• Shang Qinghua ending up in the wife role in a wife plot.
• Mobei-jun ending up in the wife role in a wife plot, and Shang Qinghua having to figure out how the heck he's going to clever his way around whatever Binghe did
• Shang Qinghua getting to solve things with cleverness in general
• Mobei-jun doing little things to make Shang Qinghua's life on An Ding easier, or attempting to do that and accidentally making it harder.
• Cang Qiong dealing with Mobei-jun openly showing up all the time after the end of their extra.
• Divergence where Mobei-jun gets a clue about How To Court A Human earlier, and Shang Qinghua has to deal with that while spying or in the middle of the plot.

Shang Qinghua/&Shen Qingqiu | Shen Yuan

• They're such a mess. Different types of messes, but such messes. I love any dynamic with them whether that's Shen Yuan successfully pretending to be aloof (at least to Shang Qinghua's POV) or both of them openly being disaster nerds who are barely managing all this.
• Prompts:
• Tropes, so many tropes. And plotlines that Shang Qinghua wrote and they could end up stuck in.
• AU where they transmigrate into OCs, and however they deal with either fixing or avoiding the plot.
• AU where they transmigrate into OCs and straight up steal the protagonist when he's still a tiny child.
• Anything with Shen Qingqiu generally being an absolute critical aloof brat at Shang Qinghua.
• No-transmigration or pre-transmigration fic.
• Them IDing each other earlier when Binghe is still a disciple.
• I love it when Shang Qinghua just has a thing for guys who act cold and aloof but really aren't.

Su Xiyan/Tianlang-jun

• I just adore them okay. Tianlang-jun being so bad at being deliberately mean (he drops the anger/hate immediately when he finds out that Su Xiyan didn't betray him, and pretends to not care about Binghe for just long enough to get out of sight then is all "he has my eyes right") but also very demonically cold about other things. Their whole dynamic in their extra, with Su Xiyan tossing him a gold piece because his face is cute and taking him to plays or to see fun things and Tianlang-jun gleefully accepting his role as the wayward maiden to her stern lord, is just perfect.
• You know that freeform that pops up a lot in flash exchanges that's like "One one half of the pairing tilting the other's chin up with the tip of their sword", that's my aesthetic for this pairing with Su Xiyan holding the sword.
• Prompts:
• Fixit. Whether they avoid the situation entirely, end up freed earlier, or way later on it turns out Su Xiyan wasn't as dead as they thought she was.
• AUs where they get to raise Luo Binghe.
• Fic set when they're flirting, before everything goes to hell!
• Roleswaps!
• Tianlang-jun getting to go all doe eyes at Su Xiyan while she kicks ass (possibly his ass)

 

 

Tian Guan Ci Fu

Ban Yue & Pei Su

• I love the bits of the two of them and their friendship that we got in the book. Obviously the whole situation they started from was incredibly not good, and they probably didn't handle things well afterwards, but they still did the best they could from the vantage they had. And when it came down to it at the end, they were there for each other.
• Prompts:
• Fic set when they were mortals.
• After Pei Su is banished and Ban Yue is passed off to Rainmaster, as both of them settle in to helping her with things and get comfortable with that new frame of existence.
• Adventures (and helping Rainmaster) after the end of the book.
• The two of them getting to do silly kid/teenager things together. Or just fun and relaxing things.
• Pei Ming showing up to fuss after the end of the book.

Hua Cheng/Xie Lian

• *waves wildly at the whole dang canon*
• Prompts:
• All the tender, soft little moments. Especially post-canon when they're actually aware and acting on their feelings.
• Outsider POV
• More ghost city silliness
• Xie Lian getting to play with more things from that armory!
• Some sort of strangeness with qi or a ghost incident ending with Hua Cheng knocking Xie Lian up, whether focused on them figuring out what happened or on their emotions about that or the way it affects their physical connection.
• AU where Xie Lian does things differently. Maybe for the better (if he doesn't ask for his luck to be bound, would Hua Cheng be able to find him?) or maybe for the worse (if that one person never stopped to help him and he did use the sword) or a straight up it could go either way (changing how he did things during his first ascension, not requesting to be banished the second time, ect)
• Hua Cheng finding Xie Lian during the 800 years
• Xie Lian somehow getting notorious enough and being weirdly mystical enough over centuries that even while banished he still gets worshipped
• Roleswap
• Daemon AUs

Ling Wen & Pei Ming & Shi Wudu

• They're all terrible and I adore them. Their friendship is great. That moment where Pei Ming spots Ling Wen with Xie Lian and is immediately concerned is perfect.
• Prompts:
• Them working together before the events of the book, and getting to meld their different strengths.
• Petty and terrible behavior in their downtime, while they're working, and at events.
• Shi Qingxuan swanning in and interrupting their terrible three aesthetic.
• All sorts of canon divergences. Whether directly involved in the events of the books or happening well before those events.
• Roleswaps (Ling Wen as an elemental god, Shi Wudu terrorizing everyone with bureaucracy)
• Ghost AU
• The three of them dealing with a time loop together

Ling Wen/Yushi Huang

• They're both so incredibly chill in such very different ways. And despite neither of them directly being fighters, they have very different ways of dealing with things. Partially due to their different spheres, and partially just due to their personalities and how they handle themselves.
• Prompts:
• They probably end up working together at least some, with Ling Wen handling all the bureaucracy of things.
• Ling Wen having to go out to Rainmaster's farm for whatever reason, or tag along while she does her job.
• The whole evolution of Rainmaster removing herself from the pomp of things while also very solidly building up her reputation without even trying, and how that mixes in with the Three Tumors
• Post-canon when everything has been shaken up a little and Rainmaster might be taking a more active hand in helping out the other gods as everyone adjusts.
• AU with one or both of them as a ghost. (Yushi Huang would make an epic Calamity)

 

 

Assassin's Creed

Barnabas/Herodotos

• You can't put two guys on a boat and have them bicker and not expect me to ship them, okay! They're really cute. They come from such different backgrounds and work in such different ways, but when you come down to it they really value a lot of the same things.
• Prompts:
• Bickering turning to flirting on the Adrestia
• Them meeting when they're younger. Maybe something happens then, or maybe it's a near miss (or the one who got away) until they meet again during the events of the game.
• Getting dragged into more of Kassandra or Alexios's side missions (or having to intervene when one goes some sort of way)
• Barnabas having encountered things and people that Herodotus hasn't and now they have to talk about it while Herodotos trys to work out how much of it is true (it's all true, all of it).
• Barnabas gets injured in a ship fight and Herodotos stepping in to help patch him up.

Desmond Miles/Ezio Auditore

• The game gives us the tinyest bit of evidence that Desmond isn't just reliving memories, he's actually connecting with the person who lived them when they lived them (or at least is with Ezio) and it has driven me crazy ever since. It's so close! It could be so weird!
• Prompts:
• Bleeding effect connections are so much the obvious thing here but I love them, especially if there's an awareness for both of them in it, but also if Desmond just keeps hallucinating due to the bleeding effect and when the ship finally happens for some reason he doesn't realize immediately that it's real.
• I'm happy however you want to get them together whether that's piece-of-eden or Isu based, time travel, reincarnation, transmigration, AUs ect.
• I'm also totally here for non-corporeal matchups, where one of them is stuck in the other's head.
• Desmond ending up back in time after his canon fate in ACIII (which I'm totally fine with, turning that into a temporary death is so up my alley), especially if he goes back after Ezio knows his name. Especially if Ezio has canon divergenced him back via a piece of eden (whether that's a new one that he doesn't get in canon or one of the ones that he does).
• AUs, including setting change AUs, that might result in them being alive at the same time.
• Crossovers that would result in them being alive at the same time. Ezio being frozen in cyro only to awaken in the Horizon Zero Dawn setting? Cultivator immortality pulling timelines very close together? The Assassin's being a really insular sect of force wielders? Have the Templars infected the Systems and Ezio and Desmond both get "moved out of the way" and have to fix it quick transmigration style so that they can at least get back to Ezio's timeline? Something else I haven't thought of?

• Poor Will gets tangentially involved with so many shady things, even beyond Transtar's basic shadiness. Morgan (probably) using Skillet as a first attempt at adjusting an operator personality. The food smuggling for Annalise. Who knows what else. He deserves to be able to have fun cooking, but he's headed for so much trouble in so many directions and honestly getting involved with Morgan would not improve that at all.
• Prompts:
• Will getting into more of the aforementioned trouble (or just one of those lines of trouble getting to play out) and ending up wrapped up in more of Morgan's mess because of it.
• Just cute flirting before everything goes to hell, with optional strangeness from Morgan's memory issues.
• Will sending snacks to Morgan when he's on hour who-knows-what in the labs or his office because the research is too important to stop.
• Volunteer 37 doesn't go to crew quarters, so Morgan finds Will (and Abby and who knows who else) in the kitchen in need of rescuing.
• A Will who was involved with (or just had a unrequited crush on) Original Morgan surviving the outbreak and having to deal with Typhon Morgan.

• Anything that shows Shen Jiu's imprisonment from his or Binghe's POV, or rescues set after he loses arms (leg loss is fine as long as he's still able to function independently, eye loss is fine).
• For Liushen or Cucumberplane *only*: Current or past Bingqiu within a fic for a pairing/poly Luo Binghe isn't in (This DNW is *only* about dealing with the canon relationship. Lishen → Bingliushen is fine as long as it's not V type. Binqiu in the background of non-Liushen non-Cucumberplane fics is totally fine.)
• For Cucumberplane *only*: Current or past Moshang unless writing SQH/SY/MBJ poly. (MBJ pining in the background is fine! Background Moshang in non-Cucumberplane fic is totally fine.)

Dragon Age specific DNWs:

• Custom Names for Player Characters. (The defaults can be found on the wiki. Using last names is also fine)
• Templar-aligned Player Characters.
• The Chargers dying.

Andromeda specific DNWs:

• Custom Names for either Ryder twin (the defaults are Scott and Sara)
• Anything about Kadara, exiled colonists, or colonists as raiders. This includes even passing mentions of it. The Uprising is fine, as are the non-exile-related effects of it (Kandros as head of security, the Krogan Colony, ect), but nothing to do with exile. If a reference could easily read as though they were put back into cyropods instead of exiled, then it should be fine. AUs where exile never happened are fine. Pre-exile fixits where exile is considered as an option and dismissed are fine.

SWTOR specific DNW:

• Mentor/mentee relationships

Assassin's Creed specific DNWs:

• The Legacy of the First Blade DLC (pretend it doesn't exist).
• Ezio/Sofia breaking up if they're already together. Already past (or soon to be past) for non-breakup reasons like Ezio reincarnating/transmigrating/piece-of-eden-ing is fine, as is current Ezio/Sophia that turns into poly with one of the requested ships. Averting the relationship entirely in an AU or a handwave is also fine.

Clarifications:

• "Requested character" in all cases refers to the character/pairing from my requests that you choose to focus on in the fic. I'm not expecting those DNWs to apply to every character I requested, just the one you're writing and tagging the fic for.
• SVSSS Specific Clarification: Since we know from the book that SJ definitely expected Binghe to die from the wrong manual and knew about the bullying, if that treatment comes up I'd rather the canon situation not be characterized as one of the things he was falsely accused of. It doesn't need to be brought up at all if it isn't relevant, I don't expect any sort of lesson or regret about it, and AUs that cause it to not happen or cause SJ to have a different outlook are definitely welcome! I just don't want fic where it's said or implied that canon PIDW SJ didn't do those things or that it wasn't his choice/fault or that he had a "good" motivation behind those actions.
• Planned public declarations of love that only one half of the pairing knows about ahead of time: I mean things like public marriage proposals/announcements, public confession speeches, announcing the relationship, ect. If the characters have already talked about that sort of thing and the in-the-dark-character is going to react like "Oh hey that thing we talked about is happening now, with no unpleasant surprises that will make me uncomfortable", then don't worry about it! I just don't want them caught off guard or embarrassed by something they had no idea was coming. (It's a big second-hand embarrassment thing for me.)
• Suspicion of Cheating: I mean things like "Are they dating someone else/want to date someone else/slept with someone else/am I a side piece" ect, but not things like "Are they flirting with that waitress". Momentary "Wait wait--oh no that's not it at all" type suspicions are also fine in general, as long as there is no stretch of time where cheating is suspected (for either the reader or the characters)
• V-type poly: What I mean by this is poly where two of the characters are into a third but not each other. I need some sort of romantic relationship for all three legs of a poly relationship, even if it's antagonistic or low key.
• Breakups involving characters in the pairing within the fic: I basically don't want breakup fic, whether that's between both of the characters in the pairing or if it's one character in the pairing breaking up with a prior relationship. It's fine if a canon relationship breaks up *before* the fic and that's mentioned (except for Bingqiu or Moshang, see the SVSSS DNWs), but I don't want a gift that involves that arc. (Prey is an exception to this DNW)
• Non-canon permanent major character death: I don't want something where someone who didn't die in canon does so, but I'm fine with characters dying in different ways than how they died in canon as long as the fic is clearly tagged so that I know what I'm getting into. I care a lot less about this for antagonist characters. Kill the Archon however you want and I won't blink, but please give me clear warning for an alternate Alec Ryder death. There's also probably antagonists who didn't die in canon that I'm fine dying in a fic, but defining exactly where the antagonist line lies is hard so probably double check on those.
• Permanent requested character death (even if canon): I don't want any of the requested characters to be dead at the end of the fic. I don't want a pre-death fic that very blatantly references or leads into the start of the plotline of the eventual canon character death.
• Related things to the character death DNWs that are totally okay!: Focus on grief. Character mistakenly thinking someone is dead or grieving for a temporarily dead character. Grief for a not-in-the-pairing character who is canonically temporarily dead and will not be resurrected within the fic. Fic where the canonically dead character is dead for most of the fic as long as they're alive by the end of the fic. Dead character comes back as a corporeal ghost ala TGCF or a similar "Basically alive with fancy powers" sort of undead. Pre-death fic that doesn't very blatantly reference or lead into the canonical character death plotline. Pre-death fic that leads into/directly references canonical death plot but clearly sets up a divergence even if the characters don't realize the significance at the time. Time travel/Peggy Sue fixit where the canonically dead character definitely died in the last timeline but they're averting it this time. Canon divergence dealing directly with the canon death plotline. Not mentioning the temporarily dead character during a canon divergence, as long as it isn't implied the divergence will keep them dead.
