Thank you for writing for me! I love AUs, so really any direction you want to take the tags we matched on should be lovely <3. Some of these sections I just sort of waved at the tags like "Like that!" and some of them got away from me into rambles, but I absolutely would be thrilled to get every thing here.

- ALL: Magic is a part of everyday life
- ALL: Witches
- ALL: Nature Magic
Magic as part of the initative would be so much fun. It could either not change much at all (biotics already seem like straight up magic to the Angara), or it could change a lot, depending on where you went with it. It could be hidden magic that's coming out now that they're in Andromeda on this situation and there's way less reason to hide it, or maybe humans just having magic and that's a known thing! How do their rituals transfer to a new galaxy? Is their nature magic compatible with the nature in Andromeda? If it was hidden, how does a few people having magic change the dynamic of things on the Nexus? If it wasn't, how do the Angara deal with it? Do the mages/witches carry magical weapons (wands, staves, magical swords, magical instruments) and how does that change their loadouts/plans? If it's an openly known ability, how does that change the role of biotics (especially if it's only an openly known ability for humans)?
Do things go better, overall, with magical protections woven into armor and people able to use magic to help grow food? Can they hide better with spells to help them? Can they see things (either in the future or far away) and get information they couldn't get without magic? Does someone survive who wouldn't have otherwise?
Or deal with absolutely none of that and just have magic casually baked in as a whole different plot is going on! I was going to say that I would prefer whoever the selected character is to have magic for these, but "the Ryders are magic and the viewpoint character is dealing with that" also sounds fun and then I kept thinking of other fun things.
- All: Everyone Lives/Nobody Dies (Except the Bad Guys)
- MEA: Jien lives
What it says! Someone lives! Something changes because they live! Maybe multiple someones live! For everyone it doesn't need to be literally "Everyone" so much as the named characters (the Pathfinders especially). Though, literally everyone on the initiative living could be a really neat basis for a diversion where they all manage to get to Andromeda (maybe they have plans to slow up before they hit the system to do a secondary "are things how we expected" scan before going in, and the nexus crew makes the decision to keep most people in cryo and wait for the arcs while hidden in dark space instead of trying to start up everything on their own?) and the start of things is with a Initative that are all together and getting to make careful and reasoned decisions about how to proceed without all the scourge induced issues of canon, could also be super interesting.
If It's Jien lives, does the Uprising even happen? How does that change how the nexus deals? How does that change Scott or Sara's responsibilities?
Liam KostaLiam is my LBD for Andromeda so there's a bunch of optional ships here (link). I'm also totally happy for completely gen Liam making friends with people and doing whatever it is he's going to be doing to try to help!
For a magic AU, especially if Liam has magic, how does that change his tactics? If it's a subtle sort of magic, does that give him different things to do without really changing his fighting? When he and Jaal are comparing armor, is he showing Jaal protective charms sewn into his clothes or painted onto his armor/skin? Does he need supplies on the Tempest for magical rituals? Does trying to show how his magic can help people come up when he's trying to connect with the Angara? Does he have magical intuition-type-abilities that are part of why he's so confident when connecting with people? If it's an obvious sort of magic, is he bringing a bigass enchanted stick into battle to fight DA style or does it look like he's out there with no or few weapons right until he starts throwing out fire or drawing runes in the air or something? If it's nature magic, can he feel what's going on when they land on some of the planets (especially planets like Havarl!)? Is he able to try and help some of the plants near him, or even in a broader scale, and how does that affect things with the Angara?
If it's the Ryders with magic, especially if they kept it hidden, I've love him trying to learn more about that in the same way he approaches other types of cultural exchange. Or just being super enthusiastic about it in general.
For everyone lives or Jien lives, how does that change things for Liam? If Alec is around, how different is the pathfinder team? If Jien lived and things went differently on the Nexus, who is he dealing with? I'm totally happy to get either something really focusing on the AU, or "Here's Liam on the Tempest doing missions and oh by the way in the background there's this *massive* AU that's the basis but not the focus".
Ellen RyderWe get to see barely anything of Ellen, and almost none of it the really fun genius stuff! I definitely want any fic of her to be fic where she's awake, either after they pull her out of cyro or in an AU where she doesn't need to be in for some reason. Exception: Alec in an "everyone lives" AU focusing on figuring out how to revive her in the middle of everything else (as long as he succeeds and she's awake by the end of the fic).
For the magic AUs, does that change how the biotic chips work? Or how *SAM* works? Is SAM still connected to her, on the way to Andromeda, because magic means they were able to keep her stable? What other things can someone with that level of genius do with literal actual magic, especially when paired with Alec? If it's secret, how does finding out that whoops turns out the Ryders are *even stranger* affect things once they get there? Is the magic a inherited thing, or something she and Alec managed to figure out all on their own while trying to make SAM? For pre-Andromeda, are they over here breaking physics while making an entirely new way of doing things to make a sentient AI to save her, and does anyone in the Initiative even know that it's more than tech? Is it a Pathfinder secret?
Jien GarsonObviously anything where Jien lives, especially focusing on Jien, is going to be a hell of a change to the nexus part of the plot! And I absolutely would love those changes whether they involve her in an otherwise the same canon dealing with the same emergencies (except for exiles as per that DNW), or if it's an everyone lives AU where everything is going a hell of a lot better (or they're finding new horrifying ways to have emergencies).
For a magic AU, how does that change things? Is it the Ryders, busting out magic in the leadup to get them the hell out of there? Or after they get to the nexus? Is magic popping up all over the place because all these witches wanted a chance of a life where they didn't have to hide it and it's now or never, in the moment when their abilities are most needed? Does Sloane manage to save Jien during the initial mess with straight up magic? Is Jien secretly a witch and manages to defend herself against the Benefactor, because the one thing he couldn't predict was literal magical abilities that she's been keeping very very secret? Or is it pre-Andromeda fic, and it turns out Jien is a seer or something and this whole thing was her trying to get everyone out of danger and knowing they won't believe her?
I'm very optionally open to any F/F ship with Jien that doesn't have major power balance issues (eg: with a secretary of hers) or break up any canon couples! Jien/Ellen/Alec is fine (either as a casual or established thing)! I'm also happy to get fic that's more focused on her dealing with the situation and her non-romantic relationships with people.
Tian Guan Ci Fu
.Requested Characters:Shi Wudu
Ling WenIf you'd like to add in ships, I'm absolutely up for Ling Wen/Yushi Huang. But I'm also happy with gen. (I don't really ship Shi Wudu with anyone except for super casual Ling Wen/Shi Wudu)
- ALL: AU where some characters can feel the feelings of those around them all the time
I can't decide if these either of these two would *hate* this or use the heck out of it for their own gains or both at the same time. It would cause such a mess in canon, or be such an easy way to diverge things! Obviously He Xuan's feelings would seem way out of place, but there's also all the other mess going on in the heavens (Jun Wu and the souls stuck to him??) and being able to feel those feelings could send them in some interesting directions.
I'd also be totally happy with an entire fic of Shi Wudu using his empathy to be a total jerk and boost himself. Water god more like 'knows all your secret feelings' god. Or Ling Wen using the ability to her advantage for organization and manipulation.
- ALL: Canon Character Death Evaded
- All: Character Is Dead And Doesn't Know It AU
- ALL: Dead character is resurrected
Most of these are pretty Shi Wudu focused for obvious reasons. Straight up evading his dead would be fun, but also him *dying* and the aftermath being one of the other two AUs could be hella. Him as a demon, him resurrecting as a mortal or a god, him as a ghost but it's a really strange ghost so he just...doesn't realize that he's not a god anymore because he feels the same and everything mostly works the same.
Alternatively, for Ling Wen, her having died at some point and not knowing that she's a ghost. Maybe to make the brocade. Maybe sometime completely randomly. Maybe she died in that cell and that former god had to do some really quick coverup work because someone *dying* for beating him at poetry is the only thing worse than getting beaten at poetry and he was already invested in not looking like a sore loser. We know ghosts can become gods (even if HC jumped down immediately afterwards) so it's not *that* out there!
- ALL: Character Is A Fox Demon
- ALL: Origin Swap
Any sort or Origin swap (either of them as a different type of god, either of them as ghosts instead of gods, ect) or mythology shift type thing! Either of them of them would make excellent fox demons too.
- ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened
- ALL: Time loop where character makes things worse before making them better
I'm just shoving the time stuff together and waving my hands at it. A loop could be *such* a perfect disaster because neither of these two is exactly focused on the greater good so much as their personal situation, and neither of them is very good at backing up and fixing their actions. Ling Wen is better at it, but still
.Hua Cheng/Xie Lian- All: Arranged marriage to bring peace between two countries/species on the verge of a war
Maybe it's another way to try to beat Xie Lian's optimism during his third ascension (by putting him in a situation to calm a situation between the gods and Hua Cheng by marrying him).
Or maybe Hua Change has done himself a time travel back and suddenly a Calamity is demanding a bride. Whether he's going for Xie Lian directly, or he's playing a careful game where he knows Xie Lian will sub in for some other bride to "trick" him, I'm happy with it. Or maybe he wasn't demanding a bride at all and was trying to change things up enough to avoid the human face disease situation and suddenly he's got Xian Le offering him up a crown prince that he absolutely cannot refuse.
- ALL: Character Is A Fox Demon
- ALL: Character was Stolen by Fairies as a Baby
I love mythology shifts. Whether you want to stick to the main story with them in slightly different roles, or if you want to go full AU with it, I will absolutely be there for that!
Whether the Prince/Cursed Son is the swap or the God/Calamity is the swap it could be
really cool.
- ALL: Characters Meet at a Different Point in Their Canon
Either them not having their first meeting how they do, or their second major meeting happening during that 800 years. Or maybe Xie Lian ascends for the third time slightly earlier and it changes up how they meet some.
- ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened
There are so many ways they could take this, and it would probably change a lot depending on if they knew everything that was going on or not.
For Xie Lian: Him going back to try to do things "right" during that war. As long as he changes how his own fate turns out, I'm happy with it. Maybe he tries to stay out of it this time, and gets to stay a god. Maybe he renounces his place in the heavens before he goes down to help. Maybe he thinks that he was the problem so abandons everything in an attempt to not bring misery on them. Maybe he goes back far enough before things happened that he changes the exact route of everything and accidentally avoids the war completely by refusing to ascend (or immediately turning around and jumping down after he does).
For Hua Cheng: There is so much he could do going back equipped with the knowledge of what would happen. Whether that's about Jun Wu, or it's just him knowing exactly where Xie Lian will be and being able to keep contact with him through that 800 years.
- ALL: AU where some characters can feel the feelings of those around them all the time
This would be so horrible for either of them. It might solve some of their early communication issues? Or maybe cause more! They've both got so many moments where this would be absolutely
horrible, especially earlier on in their lives, but also some where it would be lovely, especially with each other.
- ALL: Soulbond Allows Characters To Share Powers/Abilities
- ALL: Soulbonds - Feeling Each Other's Emotions
- ALL: Soulbonds Convey Healing Powers Between Bondmates
They're already messes about each other, and all of these could easily feed
right into that dynamic. I love soulbonds that provide some sort of magical connection and any of these would be amazing. The powers one could throw things off in crazy ways, especially if Hua Cheng started pushing his powers at Xie Lian after he jumped down from heaven or something.
- ALL: Soulmarks - mark can be the name of your greatest love or your worst enemy
The whole deal in canon with Xie Lian just casually brushing away all the warnings about Hua Cheng is already hilarious, but it would be
so much worse in this case if people were convinced that Hua Cheng was his greatest enemy and here he is, running around with him. It could also throw such a wrench in things, especially for people who knew about the name being on Xie Lian before only for it to come up in
this context. And I can only imagine the problems it would have caused poor Hua Cheng as a child, because obviously no one would assume that Xie Lian was a cursed child's love.
Dragon Age
.Ameridan
He's one of my LBDs for dragon age. He's one of those characters where I'm like "This would be so many good ships" and then just wave wildly at half the cast. My LBD letter was here (link) but I'm super not picky with this.
How he was frozen was already nature magic. Did it affect him? Does he come out of the ice with extra powers that he absorbed from Hakkon? Is it a full AU where magic is a lot more nature focused (or just elven magic is) and that's why he's able to survive?
The main thing I was imagining when requesting this was for history to get jumbled enough that they would each retain their cultural situation (with Ameridan being from the Dales with them still being under elven control, and the Inquisitor being from their origin), but which one was frozen (and possibly how) changes up. Maybe it was Ameridan as the First Inquisitor who was dealing with Corypheus and he got frozen in time, only for an Inquisitor trying to deal with a much more world threatening Hakkon to awakening him and accidentally restart that whole situation again. Maybe Inquisition happened long before Hakkon was a threat, and the player character Inquisitor was the First Inquisitor to deal with that and they're the one being thawed.
The other thing I was thinking was a full swap, with a modern Inquisitor from a time when the Dales were (back?) under elven rule, and Ameridan from before in a time more like the Dragon Age. With either method of freezing in time whether literally frozen or holding Corypheus somehow.
- Dragon Age: Ameridan Lives
Somewhat self explanatory and also obligatory for this request but, seriously, Ameridan in the Inquisition. Ameridan having to find a place to fit in
after Inquisition. Do people know who he is? Does he break off to go do his own thing? Does he end up getting bullied into going back to Kirkwall because "they'll go with it, trust me"?
.Requested Pairings:Dorian/Felix- ALL: Alternate First Meetings
Maybe Dorian never gets picked up from that brothel by Gereon. Maybe they just meet earlier than that at the circle instead. Maybe they manage to be two ships passing in the night all the way to Inquisition when suddenly Felix is having to trust the only one of his countrymen around who seems to be behaving rationally and is willing to listen to him.
Maybe Dorian as the one having to clever his way around not having much magic (possibly with still being made into Gereon's apprentice, just in a very different role, while Felix is the prodigy with bunches of power and how that could feed into their whole dynamic), or maybe with their families literally swapped and Dorian being in a situation where he has a loving father who supports him (and possibly grandparents trying to murder and/or blood magic him) and Felix in the situation where he's in danger from his own parents and only getting support from his teacher (and his teacher's son).
- ALL: AU where some characters can feel the feelings of those around them all the time
This would change so much for Dorian and possibly very little for Felix, but would still be excellent either way!
- ALL: Character Is A Fox Demon
Dorian especially. I mean, seriously, think about it!
Felix with fluffy tails would be really cute too though. And with Felix it could maybe tie into his magic not being what proper Tevinter mages are supposed to have in a major way.
- ALL: Characters pretend to be a couple/married to solve cases so often that they catch feelings
Maybe it's an easy way to disarm people with two Vints in the south. Maybe they're having to go undercover for some reason in Tevinter. Maybe they're both back in Tevinter after Inquisition and the easiest way to avoid marriage proposals (and the careful ettiquete about refusing those) is by pretending to be engaged.
- ALL: Being in a time loop together leads to getting together
- ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened
Just, time stuff. All the time stuff!
- ALL: Male character gets pregnant by magic
I love strange random magically induced type pregnancies. Maybe by sex, maybe they just picked up the wrong thing. Maybe Dorian asked whoever went into Mythal's pool for a way to cure Felix and they didn't realize her solution would come with a baby shaped side effect!
Male Hawke/Varric- ALL: Alternate First Meetings
Them being in the same city gives so many options for this. Or maybe Hawke doesn't go to Kirkwall. Or Hawke doesn't go at the same time (they barely got in as it was!).
Maybe Varric is the one having to flee Ferelden and Hawke is the established one (maybe as a noble already, planning an expedition, or maybe he's still trying to work his way up and is just the one who knows this super fascinating city that Varric got attached to the moment he stepped foot into it)
- ALL: AU where some characters can feel the feelings of those around them all the time
They would still somehow manage to be pining messes even with one or both of them literally feeling each other's feelings, I'm sure. They'd also both probably put this sort of ability to good use!
- ALL: Character Is A Fox Demon
IT'D BE CUTE OKAY. Please Imagine Varric with more tail than height (he would have the fluffiest tails). Or maybe Hawke messes something up and whoops one or both of them now has a very very different set of skills and anatomy. Or maybe the Hawke's have always been fox demons and aren't exactly mages at all.
- ALL: Characters pretend to be a couple/married to solve cases so often that they catch feelings
THEY WOULD DO THIS
- ALL: Being in a time loop together leads to getting together
- ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened
I am so very not picky about time stuff and would really be happy with anything that fit into either of these.
- ALL: Male character gets pregnant by magic
I love strange random magically induced type pregnancies. Maybe by sex, maybe they just picked up the wrong thing. Hawke absolutely would pick up the wrong thing. Or maybe Hawke finally got taught how to become a dragon and didn't realize it came with some extra utility.
Male Inquisitor/Varric- ALL: Alternate First Meetings
- ALL: Origin Swap
Either Varric not being at Haven, the Inquisitor ending up at Kirkwall way earlier (maybe getting wrapped up in the events of DA2?), or just someone else being the Inquisitor (including Varric, or Hawke!). Or maybe Varric is the one stumbling on things in Haven and the Inquisitor is the one that Cassandra was dragging there for whatever reason.
- ALL: AU where some characters can feel the feelings of those around them all the time
Maybe the Inquisitor gets an extra new ability along with the anchor and he's having to deal with suddenly being an empath on top of everything. Maybe it's an ability he's had forever and he's trying to very carefully hide it.
Or maybe it's Varric who has it. Instead of Stone Sense he got People Sense and he'd like to think it usually serves him well, but he's either getting thrown off by the emotions he's getting from the Inquisitor or due to the anchor the Inquisitor is the one person he can't read. Maybe if he can't read the Inquisitor he manages to convince himself there's nothing there, then Trespasser happens and suddenly he
can sense the Inquisitor's emotions and whoops the Inquisitor is in love with him and has been for awhile.
- ALL: Character Is A Fox Demon
IT'D BE CUTE OKAY. Please Imagine Varric with more tail than height (he would have the fluffiest tails). Or the same with an Inquisitor. Or an Adaar just straight up looking magnificent. I'm not picky on if you pull in elements of the mythology other than the form or not, both could be a lot of fun.
- ALL: Characters pretend to be a couple/married to solve cases so often that they catch feelings
They've gotta pretend for some mission, or maybe some noble is trying to trap the Inquisitor into an engagement and Varric steps in with a whole story ready to go, and hey it works! So they just keep doing that. Not like either of them minds right (except for all the feelings they keep having at this "fake" relationship)
Maybe the anchor came with some very strange side effects. Or maybe they're deliberately trying for a kid and part of that ancient elven knowledge from the pool came with the secrets of mpreg!
Scum Villain
.Liu Qingge/Shen Qingqiu | Shen Jiu- All: Arranged marriage to resolve enmity/rivalry actually works leading to understanding/feelings
Literally what it says on the tin. Maybe all of the peak lords get paired off, and someone assumes that if these two are forced to be family they'll work it out. Or maybe it's a situation very specific to them due to either some tradition they accidentally kicked off by hating each other (It's PIDW! "Get married to solve your hate" sounds like the sort of poorly thought out tradition that would exist there!), or even a situation totally outside of Cang Qiong that ends up forcing the situation.
- ALL: Character was Stolen by Fairies as a Baby
I love mythology shifts, especially when the canon magic is still their. Either of them being fairy-raised (for almost any sort of fairies) would be fascinating.
- ALL: Being in a time loop together leads to getting together
- ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened
- ALL: Time Travel Backward To Fix The Past Results In Unexpectedly Getting Married
I just really love time based AUs and would be happy with pretty much anything based on this.
Two different ways I could see this going. 1) Liu Qingge being the former slave who clawed his way up and got to the peaks late and damaged but still skilled enough to be worth taking on, while Shen Jiu is the noble son who was born and raised for this (with everyone else shuffled around however you want). or 2) Liu Qingge as the perfect scholar and Shen Jiu as the warrior (a Shen Jiu who was good enough to force his way into being succeeding disciple of Bai Zhan would be a
terror).
- ALL: Soulbond forms during moments of extreme empathy
Maybe there's some sort of situation where one of them genuinely feels empathy with whatever the other is expressing, and that has consequences they weren't expecting. Maybe it's completely accidental and they're both just feeling the same way about a situation. Disdain and resentment for each other. Frustration at a situation. Anything, really. They may or may not even realize who they've formed a soulbond with at first!
- ALL: Soulmarks - mark can be the name of your greatest love or your worst enemy
They would both absolutely assume enemy. Multiple people would
hope enemy. Then whoops, turns out no.
- SVSSS: All Peaks are separate sects
This whole premise is just really neat. Them interacting as Sect Leaders of different sects, with their very very different ways of doing things, would be a totally different dynamic.
- SVSSS: PIDW-verse Liu Qingge doesn't die of qi deviation
What it says on the tin! Liu Qingge doesn't die, either due to not having a qi deviation then or due to Shen Qingqiu saving him. And then all the changes that would result.
- SVSSS: Shen Qingqiu fights with a fan and/or brush and/or guqin
I love Xiu Ya but this whole aesthetic is just great. Also, him having never been in competition or sparring with Liu Qingge might really change their dynamic. Or maybe they'd get into the same sort of argument in a different way.
.Shen Jiu & Shen YuanOptional ships: Qijiu or Liujiu. If SY has a physical form, Liushen, Cucumberplane, or Zhuzhi/SY. If he's a system then I'd rather no romance for him in this unless SQH is also a system and they're having a systemmance. If it's set during post-canon SVSSS then Bingqiu as long as it's less focused on than SY & SJ.
- ALL: Character Is A Fox Demon
- ALL: Character was Stolen by Fairies as a Baby
- ALL: Trees & Tree Spirits
I love strange magic and origin shifts due to that magic. Maybe Shen Yuan transmigrates in as a very different role, and ends up having to deal with Shen Qingqiu.
Maybe because the peak lord of Qing Jing is the "obvious" choice to deal with this sort of creature, or maybe he meets Shen Jiu as a child (or teenager) and doesn't realize that the bratty angry kid he's taken on is the villain until it's way too late to reverse course because he's already attached. Or maybe the same thing happens but he accidentally both Shen Jiu
and Yue Qi, so now he's got to deal with the knowledge that instead of being off to become the strongest cultivator in existance and the villain of PIDW, they're with him learning whatever strange magic and tricks he has to teach them. Or maybe for the second one instead of having strange magic due to being stolen by Fairies, Shen Yuan
is the fairy and has to steal a baby for some reason so he figured obviously the solution is to pick a kid up off the streets. Except the child he picks is Shen Jiu and Yue Qi gets upset so he accidentally steals a baby
and a tiny child without any idea who they are or how important they'll eventually be.
Or the total reverse of things, with Shen Jiu being the one affected by those things and Shen Yuan having to deal with him in that role.
- SVSSS: Shen Yuan as Original SQQ's System
- SVSSS: Shen Yuan Transmigrates as System for Shen Jiu with Manual and Assigned Goal 'Fix the Plot'
What it says! Shen Yuan transmigrates in as a System, either for an adult Shen Qingqiu or for a child Shen Jiu, and he has to deal with this world and this villain he's been attached to (who he may or may not get emotionally attached to along the way)!
- ALL: Soulbond forms during moments of extreme empathy
Either one of them accidentally feeling a lot for the other (maybe Shen Yuan transmigrates in as an OC and the situations he end up in remind Shen Qingqiu a little bit too much of himself, maybe Shen Yuan accidentally starts learning enough about Shen Qingqiu to regret his fate and has a few too many complicated emotions) or both of them having the same feelings about the same thing at the same time (Maybe they're rivals. Maybe they don't even know each other but end up in the same situation and have a moment of the exactly same feelings) and forming a platonic soulbond.
.Shang Qinghua/Shen Qingqiu | Shen Yuan
Shang Qinghua & Shen Qingqiu | Shen YuanOptional background ships for a non-Cucumberplane situation: Background Bingqiu or Liushen for SY. Background Moshang for SQH.
- ALL: AU where some characters can feel the feelings of those around them all the time
Neither of these two would deal well with this. They'd somehow manage to find new ways to misunderstand the important things, while probably putting the ability to good use for everything
else. It could be pretty neat to play around with.
- All: Characters participate in fandom
Shen Yuan literally already does for PIDW in the forum posting sense, but if neither of them transmigrated it could go from there. Or in canon, Shang Qinghua getting back into writing in SVSSS could give him a totally new thing to hateread and rant about. Or maybe there's something totally different that one or both of them is fans of either pre- or post- transmigration. Maybe they're writing Yuletide fics. Maybe Shen Yuan figured out that Shang Qinghua is Airplane and keeps passive agressively gifting him spitefic. Maybe Shang Qinghua is managing ten exchanges and two big bangs on top of writing a ton every day. Maybe they're both in the same fandom for a totally different thing!
- ALL: Daemon AU Except They're Digimon
I never claimed to take these two seriously okay and I absolutely love Digimon (I mainly know the first season, but it's been awhile so please feel free to add whatever). Also just imagine how furious Shen Yuan would be. Shang Qinghua may have managed to hide it with clever wording while writing PIDW, but once Shen Yuan was
there with his own Digimon-Daemon it would be so obvious.
- ALL: Dating Sim AU with the protagonist being aware
Just, that. One or both of them transmigrates in and suddenly the system is informing them that they're a dating sim protagonist. Maybe it's played straight, or maybe they're trying to work around it and unlock each other's romances instead.
- ALL: Time Loop
- ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened
I love time stuff and characters forced to deal with time stuff. The second one especially could lead to a lot of fun things (either Shang Qinghua getting a second chance to really change things instead of going with the flow, or Shen Yuan having to go back as a younger Shen Jiu and change things from there)
There's so many opportunities for strange nature magic in this canon. Some of it is there with the demons and the flying leaves spell, but really lean into it either actively (more elemental magic but from the cultivators this time) or passively (natural rituals, even more magical plants, ect).
- ALL: Writing Critique Group AU
Shen Yuan would be
so mean even if his own fic wasn't necessarily the best. Especially to Airplane. Possibly only to Airplane. Please imagine Airplane either trying to write the Danmei of his heart in between megachapters of PIDW and having to deal with Shen Yuan.
- SVSSS: All Peaks are separate sects
This whole premise could be such a fun mess. What is An Ding like, when they're a completely separate sect rather than just the organizational arm of a bigger one? How does Shen Yuan deal with transmigrating into a sect leader (and does it go even better than before or does having everyone under him mean that everyone is automatically much more wary of possession rather than assuming he's lost his memory? And if they do assume he's lost his memory, how are they dealing with that? Does it go like it did in canon? Do the other sects take notice? Or is someone trying to take advantage now that Shen Qingqiu doesn't know everything he did before?)
- SVSSS: Fix-it; Shen Yuan time travels back to his disciple days
What it says. Shen Yuan either initially transmigrating in much younger, or getting the opportunity to jump back to being a disciple and grabbing it with both hands in hopes of averting his impending death.
- SVSSS: Shen Yuan Transmigrates as System for Airplane!Shang Qinghua
This could be so much fun and he would be
so mean.
Mobei-jun/Shang Qinghua- ALL: AU where some characters can feel the feelings of those around them all the time
If Mobei-jun can feel Shang Qinghua's emotions, does this actually make anything easier for him? Do either of them catch a clue earlier? If it's Shang Qinghua, does he still manage to misunderstand everything or he can even he not rationalize some of this away?
- All: Characters participate in fandom
I don't know how this would work with Mobei-jun but I am certain it would be pretty fun.
- ALL: Daemon AU Except They're Digimon
Mobei-jun has no idea, he's just used to humans having Digimon. Shang Qinghua absolutely knows what his Digimon Daemon is and has regrets about using this as the template for bonded animals (or maybe he had no regrets at all and that is the greatest thing he ever stole!)
- ALL: Dating Sim AU with the protagonist being aware
Shang Qinghua might not know
how he ended up being the protagonist--knowing him he might even realize that he's in a dating sim without realizing that he's the protagonist unless the system is really leaning in on everything?--but he'll probably make a mess of it.
If Mobei-jun is the protagonist then he knows exactly which romance he's going for and finding out that his methods were the wrong ones (even though all the relationship stats kept going up???) could throw him for the funniest loop.
- ALL: Time Loop
- ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened
I love time loops and time messes. Maybe they get stuck in some wife plot with a loop. Maybe Shang Qinghua goes back to attempt to change up his plot this time, but he has to make sure to keep saving Mobei-jun. Maybe something happens to Shang Qinghua so Mobei-jun goes back and is determined to
keep Shang Qinghua this time instead of ever letting him go back to Cang Qiong.
Mobei-jun has his ice magic, but there's so much other nature magic that could pop up, especially if cultivators had it too!
- ALL: Writing Critique Group AU
Maybe it's actually in the PIDW setting, maybe with Shang Qinghua trying to get back into writing, or with that being his excuse for chatting about strange things with Shen Qingqiu all the time. Maybe he and Shen Yuan were in a writing group before transmigration and Shen Yuan said some unkind things about Shang Qinghua's favorite character and now that they're
there Shang Qinghua keeps being like "See? See?" (Shen Yuan does see and what he sees is a disaster).
- SVSSS: All Peaks are separate sects
How does An Ding handle being on their own? Are they helping manage things for a ton of sects? Are they more middleman who harvest a lot of things and know a lot of people or are there contacts enough to make them one of the more powerful sects despite not having the more powerful people? Does Shang Qinghua being Sect Leader mean that they can ally openly with Mobei-jun at some point?
- SVSSS: Fix-it; Shen Yuan time travels back to his disciple days
How does the possible meddling of a Shen Yuan who is trying to avert things from this far back affect Shang Qinghua? Does he out him as a spy early? Are they friends? Does Mobei-jun learn way early that humans don't flirt by hitting because of Shen Yuan being around to tell him so (or to just lecture Shang QInghua about proper flirting techniques where Mobei-jun can hear)?
- SVSSS: Shen Yuan Transmigrates as System for Airplane!Shang Qinghua
This could be so much fun and he would be
so mean.
.Su Xiyan/Tianlang-jun (with optional Luo Binghe)Optional background ships: Bingqiu as long as he's an adult when it starts and the focus is still more on their family relationship.
A lot of the prompts deal with their canon situation, so please be aware of my character death DNWs and the clarification.
- All: Arranged marriage to bring peace between two countries/species on the verge of a war
Maybe Tianlang-jun wins that fight and leaves assuming that Su Xiyan betrays him, only for a lot of complicated things to lead to this. Maybe he realizes that she's not around and something is up and forces the issue. Maybe she manages to get out on her own, or talks her way out now that the Palace Master doesnt have Tianlang-jun safely locked up.
Or maybe things go totally differently and they don't encounter each other on the road but tensions rise anyways. Maybe the palace master sends Su Xiyan assuming that she'll be able to kill Tianlang-jun in a moment where his guard is down, not expecting her to be perfectly happy leaving for this? Or maybe there's some other reason why he gets forced into a corner and has to allow it.
- ALL: Characters pretend to be a couple/married to solve cases so often that they catch feelings
This feels like something they would absolutely do if they had to go on a mission (or Tianlang-jun tagged along on a mission) and it gave them an excuse to flirt their way through it.
- ALL: Different Side Wins
- All: Everyone Lives/Nobody Dies (Except the Bad Guys)
Su Xiyan rescues Tianlang-jun instead of dying? She's frozen in the water prison instead of dead? She escapes before Tianlang-jun gets captured and manages to warn him? I'm really not picky on this one.
- SVSSS: Su Xiyan escapes with Tianlang-jun
More of the above but specifically this. Whether Tianlang-jun avoids ever being trapped or she has to rescue him or he has to rescue her!
- ALL: Canonically Dead Parent Survived To Raise Their Children
- SVSSS: Luo Binghe is raised by his birth parents
This sort of leads from one of the above AUs, but I am also totally fine with those situations being in the past and the focus being on what happens after that.
- ALL: Time Loop
- ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened
I love time loops and time travel, and there is
so much that both of them would want to change.
- ALL: Male character gets pregnant by magic
Any sort of magical strangness. Whether it's a PIDW plot device, or a aspect of heavenly demons!
- ALL: Marriage by Winning Ritual Combat To Gain Partner's Hand
I was 100% imagining them fighting each other here, possibly with one of them letting the other win on purpose in order to trick everyone into letting them openly marry. Or maybe Tianlang-jun doesn't know the significance of whatever he was just challenged to (maybe she kicks his ass and then claims his hand in marriage, whether because she's legitimately stronger or because he wasn't treating the fight seriously enough).
Demon Su Xiyan with Cultivator Tianlang-jun! Or Tianlang-jun not being king yet and him being the one with the creepy master while being courted by Sect Leader Su Xiyan!
- ALL: Soulmarks - mark can be the name of your greatest love or your worst enemy
I don't know how much actual this would change, but it is absolutely something that Tianlang-jun would be ridiculous about. And absolutely something that would tear him up if he still got captured and assumed that he was wrong about that the whole time.
.Liu Qingge/Shen Qingqiu | Shen Yuan- ALL: Being in a time loop together leads to getting together
I love time loops and I love these two so there's really not much that could go wrong here. Maybe they end up in a wife plot? Or maybe it's some shift in how things go in the book, or even someone going after Liu Qingge to keep him out of the way by trapping him in time.
- ALL: Main character goes back in time to the body of their younger self and changes what happened
Either of them going back. Liu Qingge going back during that five years, determined to prevent Shen Qingqiu's death? Shen Qingqiu going back further and accidentally befriending Liu Qingge way early on? Some other version?
- ALL: Character was Stolen by Fairies as a Baby
Either one of them as either the character who was stolen, with the other being human. Or with one of them as a fairy that the stolen human meets. Maybe Cang Qiong is actually a fairyland in this and Shen Yuan gets kidnapped by them (either as a baby or an adult, I'm not stuck on that detail)?
- ALL: Characters Meet at a Different Point in Their Canon
- ALL: Characters become friends/allies earlier than canon
These are really similar but with slightly different switch points enough (meeting vs friends) that I wanted to request both. Basically just, changing up their relationship. Maybe it's a major change, with Shen Yuan not being Shen Qingqiu or transmigrating into a different point, or maybe it's a minor one, with things changing just enough that they either meet at a different time (maybe Shen Yuan remembers the Liu Qingge thing early enough and slyly makes sure someone else is there to save him)
- ALL: Characters in arranged marriage AU catch feelings
Exactly what it says on the tin. They have to get married for some reason (Liu Qingge was already married to Shen Qingqiu? Shen Yuan transmigrates in as a son of a different sect and the Liu's or even the prior set of Peak Lords arrange a marriage for Liu Qingge?) and then feelings happen
- ALL: Nature Magic
- ALL: Trees & Tree Spirits
Elemental magic, more plant magic, just more nature magic in general whether that's the peak lords themselves using it or some sort of outside plot that's super focused on it.
Or alternatively, Shen Yuan transmigrating in as a tree spirit.
Liu Qingge being the transmigrator this time, with Shen Yuan as the native. Maybe an AU where Original Liu Qingge was the villain and this modern Liu Qingge got thrown into the thick of it. Or maybe Shen Qingqiu is still supposed to be the villain but it's even more complicated than Liu Qingge thought. Or Shen Yuan isn't Shen Qingqiu at alll and a transmigrated Liu Qingge gets totally caught off guard by this random side character that he never paid much attention to while reading (he was reading for the fight scenes!)
- ALL: Soulmarks - mark can be the name of your greatest love or your worst enemy
The marks appearing/changing when Shen Yuan transmigrates in could be such a mess. Especially considering the timing with how they think he lost his memories.
- SVSSS: All Peaks are separate sects
Bai Zhan suddenly having to do all the non-fighty things for themself with a sect leader who isn't interested in actually leading could totally change that dynamic. Or maybe they get other people to do that stuff for them in other ways. And how does Shen Yuan deal with transmigrating into a sect leader (and does it go even better than before or does having everyone under him mean that everyone is automatically much more wary of possession rather than assuming he's lost his memory? And if they do assume he's lost his memory, how are they dealing with that? Does it go like it did in canon? Do the other sects take notice? Or is someone trying to take advantage now that Shen Qingqiu doesn't know everything he did before?)
- SVSSS: Fix-it; Shen Yuan time travels back to his disciple days
What it says. Shen Yuan either initially transmigrating in much younger, or getting the opportunity to jump back to being a disciple and grabbing it with both hands in hopes of averting his impending death.
- SVSSS: Shen Qingqiu fights with a fan and/or brush and/or guqin
I love Xiu Ya but this whole aesthetic is just great. Has he always fought like this, or did Shen Yuan pick it up because he's more comfortable with the less sword based fighting and is less stubborn about it than Shen Jiu was? Or maybe he would just really prefer to keep fighting from the air as much as possible, thanks, he doesn't want to get stabbed, and that means having to stand on his sword.

SVSSS specific DNWs:
- PIDW characters finding out they were considered fictional in another world.
- LBH's neglect/abuse by SJ!SQQ treated as another false accusation/rumor. (See clarification section)
- For Liushen or Cucumberplane *only*: Current or past Bingqiu within a fic for a pairing/poly Luo Binghe isn't in (This DNW is *only* about dealing with the canon relationship. Lishen → Bingliushen is fine as long as it's not V type. Binqiu in the background of non-Liushen non-Cucumberplane fics is totally fine.)
- For Cucumberplane *only*: Current or past Moshang unless writing SQH/SY/MBJ poly. (MBJ pining in the background is fine! Background Moshang in non-Cucumberplane fic is totally fine.)
Dragon Age specific DNWs:
- Custom Names for Player Characters. (The defaults can be found on the wiki, or just using last names is fine)
- Templar-aligned Player Characters.
- The Chargers dying.
Andromeda specific DNWs:
- Custom Names for Player Characters.
- Anything about Kadara, exiled colonists, or colonists as raiders. This includes even passing mentions of it. The Uprising is fine, as are the non-exile-related effects of it (Kandros as head of security, the Krogan Colony, ect), but nothing to do with exile. If a reference could easily read as though they were put back into cyropods instead of exiled, then it should be fine. AUs where exile never happened are fine.
Clarifications:
- "Requested character" in all cases refers to the character/pairing from my requests that you choose to focus on in the fic. I'm not expecting those DNWs to apply to every character I requested, just the one you're writing and tagging the fic for.
- SVSSS Specific Clarification: Since we know from the book that SJ definitely expected Binghe to die from the wrong manual and knew about the bullying, if that treatment comes up I'd rather the canon situation not be characterized as one of the things he was falsely accused of. It doesn't need to be brought up at all if it isn't relevant, I don't expect any sort of lesson or regret about it, and AUs that cause it to not happen or cause SJ to have a different outlook are definitely welcome! I just don't want fic where it's said or implied that canon PIDW SJ didn't do those things or that it wasn't his choice/fault or that he had a "good" motivation behind those actions.
- Planned public declarations of love that only one half of the pairing knows about ahead of time: I mean things like public marriage proposals/announcements, public confession speeches, announcing the relationship, ect. If the characters have already talked about that sort of thing and the in-the-dark-character is going to react like "Oh hey that thing we talked about is happening now, with no unpleasant surprises that will make me uncomfortable", then don't worry about it! I just don't want them caught off guard or embarrassed by something they had no idea was coming. (It's a big second-hand embarrassment thing for me.)
- Suspicion of Cheating: I mean things like "Are they dating someone else/want to date someone else/slept with someone else/am I a side piece" ect, but not things like "Are they flirting with that waitress". Momentary "Wait wait--oh no that's not it at all" type suspicions are also fine in general, as long as there is no stretch of time where cheating is suspected (for either the reader or the characters)
- V-type poly: What I mean by this is poly where two of the characters are into a third but not each other. I need some sort of romantic relationship for all three legs of a poly relationship, even if it's antagonistic or low key.
- Breakups involving characters in the pairing within the fic: I basically don't want breakup fic, whether that's between both of the characters in the pairing or if it's one character in the pairing breaking up with a prior relationship. It's fine if a canon relationship breaks up *before* the fic and that's mentioned (except for Bingqiu or Moshang, see the SVSSS DNWs), but I don't want a gift that involves that arc. (Prey is an exception to this DNW)
- Non-canon permanent major character death: I don't want something where someone who didn't die in canon does so, but I'm fine with characters dying in different ways than how they died in canon as long as the fic is clearly tagged so that I know what I'm getting into. I care a lot less about this for antagonist characters. Kill the Archon however you want and I won't blink, but please give me clear warning for an alternate Alec Ryder death. There's also probably antagonists who didn't die in canon that I'm fine dying in a fic, but defining exactly where the antagonist line lies is hard so probably double check on those.
- Permanent requested character death (even if canon): I don't want any of the requested characters to be dead at the end of the fic. I don't want a pre-death fic that very blatantly references or leads into the start of the plotline of the eventual canon character death.
-
- Related things to the character death DNWs that are totally okay!: Focus on grief. Character mistakenly thinking someone is dead or grieving for a temporarily dead character. Grief for a not-in-the-pairing character who is canonically temporarily dead and will not be resurrected within the fic. Fic where the canonically dead character is dead for most of the fic as long as they're alive by the end of the fic. Dead character comes back as a corporeal ghost ala TGCF or a similar "Basically alive with fancy powers" sort of undead. Pre-death fic that doesn't very blatantly reference or lead into the canonical character death plotline. Pre-death fic that leads into/directly references canonical death plot but clearly sets up a divergence even if the characters don't realize the significance at the time. Time travel/Peggy Sue fixit where the canonically dead character definitely died in the last timeline but they're averting it this time. Canon divergence dealing directly with the canon death plotline. Not mentioning the temporarily dead character during a canon divergence, as long as it isn't implied the divergence will keep them dead.
