Stork Swap Letter

Thank you for writing for me! <3
This letter is almost done but still a bit of a work in progress! I want to add "why I like the ship" bits to all of them despite my brain deciding that's hard for some reason, and probably some supplementary prompts from tags that I almost picked but which didn't pass the "Do I want a fic entirely about this one thing" test. Otherwise every tag has at least some bit of elaboration!
I only have very mild topping preferences and most of those do not align with who I requested pregnant (though some did), so if you saw any of my tags and were worried that I wouldn't like your fic due to that please don't worry! Regardless of what your topping preferences are, as long as my requested character is knocked up somehow or they're both taking care of a baby I'm going to enjoy the fic!
While I have a lot of tags specifying that I want the pregnancy to be from a nonsexual cause, please assume that requirement is only for the actual babymaking in those specific tags (which I think all have a general idea of how baby should be made built into the tag) and isn't meant to prohibit sex in the fic for those tags as long as the sex isn't making the baby. It also doesn't need to apply to any of the other tags! For instance I have a lot of tags that are about spells or pregnancy causing objects with no nonsexual requirement, so having one of those reference back to the last person the character had sex with to be the other parent is totally fine! And obviously the tags that don't mention any pregnancy cause at all can be anything from the nonsexual causes to straight up sex caused pregnancies.
Some of these have shorter and longer prompts, and it's mostly based on how much came to mind as I was typing things up! I still want every pairing/tag combo in this exactly the same amount even if I didn't have as many ideas for one.

- Pregnant character gets in so many strange situations that no one is super surprised that they someone got knocked up in an impossible way.
- Pregnant person treating it like a normal thing when interacting with other people (maybe to troll them, maybe they just aren't considering how others might react, maybe they just don't care how others might react)

- If Mobei-jun, Tianlang-jun, or the Sith Warrior are the pregnant one: Casually ripping themselves open to do their own personal c-section with their own claws/magic, either because it's tradition or because it's an emergency and they know they can handle it.
- I'm not really into the details of the gore for this like so much as the kind of mood around that sort of brutal pragmatism or tradition, and someone casually being powerful enough that they can pull that off without it being at all traumatic for them. The casualness and lack of trauma on the part of the pregnant person is super important for this one for me (their partner can be super freaked out though!)
- Cuddling with the bloody newborn while the previously pregnant partner heals.
- Their partner (optional for SW) trying to keep it together while they rush about with healing magic and cleaning blood off of everyone and checking the baby.
Pregnancy - Emotional

- Pregnant person who either openly or secretly likes being doted on basking in it while pregnant
- That really awed "We don't know how this happened but there is a *baby* in there now and I love it desperately" type emotion.
- Emotions about character's own shitty childhood coming out via prepping for the baby
- Pregnant person is outwardly serene and inwardly a giant mess
- Pregnant person actually serene while partner is a giant mess
- For pregnant LBH, SQQ, SQH, or Nine: Pregnant person cries a lot

Scum Villain's Self Saving System
Click for Scum Villain Requests (Su Xiyan/Pregnant Tianlang-jun, Pregnant Luo Binghe/Shen Yuan | Shen Qingqiu, Liu Qingge/Pregnant Shen Yuan | Shen Qingqiu, every variation of Mobei-jun/Shang Qinghua)
Su Xiyan/Pregnant Tianlang-jun
- I just adore them okay. Tianlang-jun being so bad at being deliberately mean to people he cares about (he drops the anger/hate immediately when he finds out that Su Xiyan didn't betray him, and pretends to not care about Binghe for just long enough to get out of sight then is all "he has my eyes right") but also very demonically cold about other things. Their whole dynamic in their extra, with Su Xiyan tossing him a gold piece because his face is cute and taking him to plays or to see fun things and Tianlang-jun gleefully accepting his role as the wayward maiden to her stern lord, is just perfect.
- You know that freeform that pops up a lot in flash exchanges that's like "One one half of the pairing tilting the other's chin up with the tip of their sword after beating them in a duel"? That's my aesthetic for this pairing with Su Xiyan holding the sword.
- While I'm mainly asking for TLJ mpreg, I'm also totally interested in "Su Xiyan/Tianlang-jun & baby Luo Binghe" where Tianlang-jun carried Luo Binghe, or where either carried Luo Binghe but Tianlang-jun is now pregnant or definitely going to be pregnant with #2, if you want to go in one of those directions with one of the prompts!
- Courting Pregnant Love Interest
- I mean, she's basically already courting him in canon from the snippets we get but there is always room to take it from going out on dates to full out courting.
- Also, demon courting by proving how badass you are and killing someone's enemies (whether she means it that way or if it's from TLJ's POV and he just sees it that way), which is probably both especially complicated and especially demon romantic if SXY is dealing with canon events and gets just enough of an AU to wreck her sect (or at least the palace master) over everything.
- Maybe the holy mausoleum has a strange sort of price for resurrecting a human? Or maybe it's a totally different type of spell and he either knew it would come with a chance of getting knocked up and didn't care (or outright wanted that, maybe he figures since they're having sex they're both on board with potential children? Maybe they've talked about it and *are* already both on board with potential children if they accidentally happened?) or it's because of an unintended effect of heavenly demon cultivation interacting with human cultivation
- AU where SXY manages to get free just in time to show up to Mount Bailu and save TLJ from captivity, but he's super injured (maybe even more than in canon) and she has to use whatever is in her arsenal to heal him?
- Or some other case where she needs to heal him pretty urgently
- I'm fine with her either knowing that this spell will knock him up and figuring that it's a fair trade for him not dying, or it being something strange that happened because of using this healing spell on a heavenly demon.
- Or maybe she gets to Mount Bailu and it goes even worse because of that and he dies, and the only method of resurrection *she* knows happens to come with a baby (whether she expects that or not).
- There are a lot of threats, okay, a lot of them!
- I am totally happy with TLJ either being involved in the removing of threats or him being made to stay home while ZZL and SXY deal with the treats!
- There are so many potential strange pregnancy causes in this book! Maybe they had sex in some odd place and that's why TLJ got knocked up instead of SXY in this AU. Maybe they ate something odd. Maybe a spirit tried to be nice by casting a spell and now they need to find the spirit to redo it!
- I'm also happy with these two for LBH to have been born normally in an AU where everything went better for them, and instead of trying to recreate the circumstances that led to Binghe they're trying to create an entirely new set of circumstances so that TLJ can get knocked up with #2!
- Cute stuff with baby LBH while planning out his little sibling!
- TLJ being dramatic and needy and playing cute, or just being loudly happy and really into the romance of the whole thing. I'm fine if that happiness gets dampened temporarily
- Maybe they need to do the ritual for Important Reasons or maybe they just want a baby (or it's their solution to having TLJ carry baby #2!)
- Nestbuilding doesn't need to be a literal thing. It could involve making an absolute nestlike mess of his bed/room, or it could be more of a fortification and building a spot for the baby type thing!
- I'm also happy with "cultivators are weird and possibly not as human as they think they are" type takes where SXY is the one nestbuilding.
- I can't decide if it would be easier or harder with TLJ. On one hand he is easily distracted by books and SXY. On the other hand he can switch from willing to destroy the world to calm very quickly when given good reason and the palace master might have just given him good reason that's only amplified by having a baby to protect.
- Whether they fail and there's focus on him out doing the canon typical thing or they succeed and he's safe in his library while someone else does the canon typical thing, I'm into it!
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from rituals or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- If all babies are from rituals, maybe they didn't realize because the ritual for a half demon baby is very different from the ritual for a child of one or the other.
- Otherwise, maybe random chance this ritual worked for them. Or SXY didn't know what process her family usually uses and it just happens to be this one. Or there are dozens of ways that heavenly demons can get knocked up and this was close enough!
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from quests or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- I just think them going on a whole quest to get TLJ knocked up (or to get one of them knocked up and it turns out to be TLJ) could be really cute and fun. Whether they've already dealt with the palace master or that's still ongoing!
Pregnant Luo Binghe/Shen Yuan | Shen Qingqiu
- For the baby quest and nesting noms I'm also open to "Luo Binghe/Shen Yuan | Shen Qingqiu & baby" where LBH either carried the baby or if there is a more "mother" role in the quest took that role in the quest (There not being gendered roles at all is also great!). For the baby finding tag I'm *also* totally happy with them thinking they're on a baby finding quest and whoops it was a pregnancy quest.
- Character Entering Into M/M Marriage Invents Mpreg In Hopes Of Pleasing Their Spouse With An Heir
- Luo Binghe is insanely smart/clever and good at using the different twists of their world to his advantage! If anyone is going to be able to pull off straight up inventing mpreg, it's definitely him. Especially if SY says anything that alludes to him wanting to impregnate Luo Binghe (whether he means it or not).
- SY saying something implying he wants this and Luo Binghe going out to do it, and then coming back to SY for information and SY not making the connection. Especially if he's SY!SQQ so he's doing a bunch of compartmentalizing and not realizing that the brief joke he made about mpreg is the cause of all of this until near the end of it.
- Maybe Luo Binghe managed to find a spell that would yank SY's soul out of the sleeping plantbody, and it just happened to be one that knocked himself up. Even if he knew that was the price, he'd definitely be happy to pay it.
- Or maybe post canon SY is almost killed *again* and some part of whatever spell LBH pulls out of nowhere to save him also knocks LBH up
- This is more of a self healing spell, but maybe LBH using the plantbody to filter his qi has some very unexpected side effects
- SY having to panic heal Luo Binghe (or thinking he does) and accidentally knocking him up with the spell. Maybe that's always what the spell does, maybe SY just used it wrong, or maybe it's due to LBH being part demon.
- Or maybe something actually manages to briefly kill Luo Binghe, especially if it's early on before SY implodes his core (maybe instead of that encounter SY avoids him and things go very very badly for a bit there?) and him resurrecting LBH just sends the whole plot careening in a different direction before they even realize that LBH is pregnant with his kid now.
- Luo Binghe getting hit straight on with a blast of qi, or run through with a sword. Maybe he's super badly injured, or maybe there's no visible injury. And then they find out that he's pregnant.
- SY!SQQ managing to land a really bad hit on LBH during that time after he's escaped from the palace, trying to pull it back at the last moment, and Xiu Ya responding by changing the nature of the strike.
- I just like carrying a lot! I'm a simple person.
- Especially if the carried person is sick or injured.
- I can't imagine him being anything less than thrilled about this baby, okay. I just want him to be happy. Especially if SY is there and (possibly freaked out but) also happy.
- LBH just going overboard in happy baby preparation time.
- He would! Especially if SY actually mentioned it and very much especially if SY asked him to! Maybe they just want a baby, or maybe there's some bigger plot going on and SY really didn't want to be the one knocked up so LBH was quick to volunteer (and then thrilled when SY seemed relieved/happy about that).
- Poor LBH dealing with instincts that he didn't even know to expect.
- Nestbuilding doesn't need to be a literal thing. It could involve making an absolute nestlike mess of the bamboo house or his rooms in his palace, or it could be more of a fortification and building a spot for the baby type thing!
- I'm also happy with "cultivators are weird and possibly not as human as they think they are" type takes where SY is the one nestbuilding. Or for AUs where SQQ straight up isn't as human as he thinks he is. Or for AUs where SY transmigrated in differently and is a demon or spirit or something.
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from quests or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- LBY would be so into this and SY would be such a mess of emotions, it could be so much fun!
- SY being very meta about it until they actually complete the ritual and he realizes that they have an actual baby on the way.
- If a pregnancy quest showed up in the webnovel at all, then I could see SY being very baffled about how enthusiastic LBH is about getting knocked up, especially if that's at odds with how Bing-ge acted in the book!
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from quests or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- I'm fine with the & baby tag for this one instead of the pregnancy tag, or for them to have thought they were going on a find a baby quest and whoops it was a pregnancy quest.
- LBH would be so freaking excited to find a baby and probably SY would too even if he wouldn't admit it. And then if LBH ended up pregnant instead that could be a whole mess while they figured out what went wrong. And if they did find a baby then wow would LBH be dealing with a lot of sudden emotions that he probably hasn't fully dealt with because he's got a *baby* now.
- If they accidentally a pregnant quest, them not realizing at first that it worked in an unexpected way and having to deal with that disappointment only for LBH to start showing pregnancy symptoms and then the revelation that it *did* work and they are having a baby!
Liu Qingge/Pregnant Shen Yuan | Shen Qingqiu
- Their whole dynamic in the book is just so fun, with bickering and arguing but also Liu Qingge is loyal to a fault and always there for Shen Qingqiu. It's such a great balance. Also the whole meridian cleansing thing is so very relevant to my interests.
- Babies Born From Pregnancies Caused By Magic Objects Are Never 100 Percent Human
- Weird magic with "consequences''! And probably SY doesn't care about those consequences so much as being knocked up at all, but he might start to worry if the cultivation world is really aggro about this sort of thing. Especially if he and LQG weren't really in a relationship so he doesn't know what the reception will be or (if he's SQQ) how the other peak lords and his disciples will react.
- Character Finds Out Because Of A Sword That Glows (or something) When Wielded By Pregnant Person
- Maybe the sword glows, or maybe it can only be wielded by pregnant people, or something. Regardless, it's a very reliable pregnancy indicator!
- Especially if everyone but SY knows this.
- I just love the idea of SY picking up a glowing sword and fighting with it with no idea what it means while everyone else is freaking out and trying to deal on multiple levels.
- I just think it's really cute, okay. Whether LQG continues he canon typical "not quite hitting it" style or tries courting in more traditional ways.
- Especially if SY (and especially SY!SQQ) thought that LQG wasn't going to be thrilled with a surprise baby, and then suddenly LQG is showing up to do all of this right!
- Because he's uncomfortable, because his favourite robes don't fit right, because he's emotionally not settled with the situation and not sure how to deal with things so that comes out as snark and grumpiness, because everyone keeps fussing at him...there's a lot of reasons for him to get even more snarky and grumpy than he normally is! If someone gets a door slammed in their face they really shouldn't be surprised!
- I just like carrying a lot! I'm a simple person.
- Especially if the carried person is sick or injured.
- LQG almost dying (or actually dying!) and SY having to cast a spell he barely knows
- Or maybe he does know, and his thought process is that he'd rather have a baby than for LQG to die, he's (if he's SQQ or an alt SY peak lord) raising a whole peakful of kids how hard can it be to raise a baby alone with tons of disciples to help change diapers and feed bottles? And then no, LQG is going to be here for the guy he sort of knocked up and this baby no matter how prickly SY is about it.
- He likes being cool, but killing things not so much! Now he has a really good excuse to be there for the cool stuff but stand back and let Liu Qingge (or whoever else is along) do the actual violent things!
- Probably cultivators aren't supposed to do this, they're supposed to have strongholds where they can keep the baby away from the threats! But depending on when the baby is coming and what all is going down, some threat removal might be necessary!
- I'm fine with this either being mainly driven by SY or LQG, or it actually being the rest of the peak lords (especially YQY) going a little aggro at whatever accusations are being flung at SQQ right when he's heavily pregnant. Especially if the palace master is demanding they hand over SQQ, pregnant or not, for imprisonment.
- Shen Yuan getting hit straight on with a blast of qi, or run through with a sword. Maybe he's super badly injured, or maybe there's no visible injury. And then they find out that he's pregnant.
- When Liu Qingge is qi deviating, him almost killing Shen Qingqiu and trying to pull back at the last moment, but since it's too late to pull back the physical blow Cheng Luan changes the nature of the blow instead
- I guiltily love the idea of AUs where either SJ was secretly not human the whole time, roleswaps, or where SY transmigrated into a totally different person (which gives a lot of room for making him not human!)
- I'm also fine with it being more of a "cultivators are less human than they think" thing with it showing in little ways like this that SY as an outsider sees as very nonhuman but the cultivators don't.
- Nestbuilding doesn't need to be a literal thing. It could involve making an absolute nestlike mess of his bed/room, or it could be more of a fortification and building a spot for the baby type thing!
- An inhuman LQG building a nest around a very confused human SY would also be great. There's so much room for either demon!AUs or spirit!AUs or wierd magical heritage AUs or 'cultivators, especially cultivators from cultivator families, less human than originally thought'!AUs!
- Operative word: try
- Liu Qingge and (if SY!SQQ) the Qing Jing disciples and the other peak lords attempting to keep SY from going off and getting himself into dangerous situations, with varying degrees of success.
- Maybe they are successful one time and he manages to miss the Immortal Alliance Conference because he is home pregnant and on bedrest.
Mobei-jun/Shang Qinghua
Pregnant Mobei-jun/Shang Qinghua
Mobei-jun/Shang Qinghua & baby
- For the & baby tag I'm fine with either of them having carried the baby (or for it to be a magically appearing baby!)
- Character Entering Into M/M Marriage Invents Mpreg In Hopes Of Pleasing Their Spouse With An Heir
- Shang Qinghua having a problem of needing to give MBJ an heir (even if MBJ doesn't actually care whether or not SQH can) and deciding he is going to fix this.
- I'm okay with SQH either being really secure in his relationship and wanting to make mpreg possible anyways or with it being partially driven by fear of being set aside if he can't.
- MBJ having to adjust his courting tactics to be more gentle early on when he realizes that SQH has been magically knocked up, possibly before SQH even realizes it.
- Post extra SQH knocking MBJ up and then deciding that he needs to properly court him instead of the mess that was their relationship arc before that (and then making an adorable mess of it)
- MBJ going hard at it to both court his pregnant soon-to-be-spouse and to show off his pregnant soon-to-be-spouse
- SQH just pulling out whatever he has to in order to keep MBJ alive, regardless of the consequences.
- If it's before they're together, maybe MBJ instantly knows exactly what's going on but SQH thinks he's successfully hiding it, so things seem strangely gentle for a bit before SQH puts it all together and realizes.
- MBJ very deliberately going for the strongest spell he knows and just assuming that obviously their relationship is at the babies point anyways
- MBJ pulling out a super powerful healing spell that is reserved for spouses of his family (since it results in pregnancy) and SQH having to realize that and possibly realize MBJ's emotions while also having only a few seconds to realize that MBJ is about to knock himself up. Meanwhile MBJ already thinks they're all but married so pulling out this spell a little early is no big deal!
- Or them actually being post those extras and SQH still getting a little rocks when he realizes that yeah he merits spousal spells (and then realizes that they're gonna have a baby now)
- The above two points, but instead with SQH doing the healing and pulling out a spell he probably shouldn't know and MBJ being happy to go along with it.
- That sort of emergency thing where the consequences are worth the reward since the consequences are the other one being dead
- MBJ pulling out a super powerful healing spell that is reserved for spouses of his family (since it results in pregnancy) and SQH having to realize that and possibly realize MBJ's emotions while also having only a few seconds to decide if he wants to get knocked up or not (and getting knocked up). Meanwhile MBJ already thinks they're all but married so pulling out this spell a little early is no big deal!
- Or them actually being post those extras and SQH still getting a little rocks when he realizes that yeah he merits spousal spells (and then realizes that he's pregnant).
- The above two points, but instead with SQH doing the healing and pulling out a spell he probably shouldn't know and MBJ being happy to go along with it.
- I mean it's SVSSS the surprise is really that this doesn't happen more often!
- I just like carrying a lot! I'm a simple person.
- Especially if the carried person is sick or injured.
- Maybe they're just at that point in their relationship and have agreed they want to have a baby, so it's ritual time!
- Or maybe there's something else going on and they have to do a ritual and either one of them has to be the one to do it or one of them volunteered to do it. Outwardly it's a necessity and possibly even sacrifice, but secretly he's absolutely thrilled.
- MBJ probably has so many little weird demon instincts that SQH really should know about and expect, and yet might somehow not (or might not realize why MBJ is building a figurative or literal nest for them)
- Nestbuilding doesn't need to be a literal thing. It could involve making an absolute nestlike mess of his bed/room, or it could be more of a fortification and building a spot for the baby type thing!
- I'm also happy with "cultivators are weird and possibly not as human as they think they are" type takes where SQH is the one nestbuilding. His office is enough of a mess that he might not even realize what he's doing at first!
- Operative word: try
- Maybe SQH would really like to not do the perilous things! But important things keep coming up and he can't just ignore those so it keeps happening anyways.
- Shang Qinghua having more influence on the world as the author than he realizes, and he wants a baby so much that the world shifts and accommodates that request! Whether it's getting one of them pregnant or with baby appearing!
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from quests or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- This would be so much fun because of SQH being SQH and MBJ taking it so seriously, but also because of it being another case of SQH's weird magic coming back to bite him. Especially if he's the one who is going to get pregnant and is dealing with the knowledge that not only can he not just have sex to make the baby but also due to this worldbuilding he can actually get pregnant, so it's really all his fault as the author.
- I'd rather SQH know what's up if he's the one who's supposed to be getting impregnated, but if it's MBJ then I'm fine with him not realizing until way late in the quest (or maybe not realizing that he's supposed to be the partner until then?) and then going with it anyways.
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from quests or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- A quest for a baby could be so much fun with these two, especially because SQH would be so SQH about it and MBJ would be taking it *so seriously*.
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from a specific thing or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- Regardless of how they appear, one of these two definitely wanting a baby so bad that it just happens for them. Especially if that's at odds with how a baby should normally happen for cultivators or MBJ's family line or something like that.
- I'm totally happy with this being a literal baby appearing or a pregnancy happening!

Pregnant Amund | Sky Watcher/Felix Alexius
- I've been trying to figure out a good way to explain this ship and honestly it 100% comes down to Amund being mildly snarkly, chill, smart, mystical, and very big, while Felix is very mildly snarky, earnest, clever, academic, smart, and normal sized. I need Amund to princess carry Felix to do some sort of complicated Avvar cure for the blight while having really nerdy cross cultural discussions about magic and religion and math okay (you do not actually have to include any of that in the fic if you don't want to! It's just the seed idea of where my shipping is coming from).
- Babies Born From Pregnancies Caused By Magic Objects Are Never 100 Percent Human
- Maybe the magic object was needed to heal Felix, or maybe this is pretty normal for the Avvar if not an everyday thing. And then Felix (and the Inquisition) needing to deal with yet another bit of strange magic and the uncertainty of what "never 100 perfect human" means.
- Courting Pregnant Love Interest
- Felix trying to learn Avvar courting methods! Or mixing the methods of their cultures. Or maybe picking some things up from other people in the Inquisition.
- Especially if Amund got pregnant healing him and Felix really likes him but isn't sure exactly where things are going.
- Dorian trying to help Felix with courting ideas.
- The obvious one here is healing Felix of the blight. The Avaar fled the blight centuries ago but maybe they eventually figured out a way to cure it, even if that way doesn't always work and comes with some side effects and costs for the caster when it does (which would actually be a fun contrast with the Warden cure since the joining makes people impotent and this would make babies).
- Spirit healing with a spirit that Amund isn't used to working to leads to a really unexpected outcome.
- Felix's magic isn't that strong, so maybe for him to be able to pull off a powerful healing or resurrection spell it has some really strange side effects.
- Or maybe Amund has been teaching him some Avaar healing techniques and Felix either doesn't fully understand the consequences of it or calls on one of the Avaar gods in a desperate effort to make it stronger and it works.
- Similarly, Felix desperately accepting help from a spirit who helps a little too much
- There's probably some really neat Avvar places (and Avvar ceremonies to do at those places) that Amund would want to go to have his baby, and obviously Felix is going to end up coming along. Or depending on the magic that caused it he might have to go to a specific place to get the baby out as magically as it got in there!
- I just like carrying a lot! I'm a simple person.
- Especially if the carried person is sick or injured.
Male Hawke/Pregnant Varric Tethras
Male Hawke/Varric Tethras & baby
- Pregnant Character Continues Canonical Perilous Activity Despite Pregnancy
- Probably everyone including Varric agrees that he should definitely not be out getting involved in danger while pregnant.
- And then it keeps happening anyways! Or the danger comes to him!
- I just like carrying a lot! I'm a simple person.
- Especially if the carried person is sick or injured.
- Hawke trying to court Varric properly, whether they're already in an established relationship or not, with flowers and dates and silly things (which might be especially silly if they're already living together).
- Hawke faking out like he might pull an Aveline just to be a troll, and then no he's doing normal courting things.
- The rest of the Kirkwall companions trying to help out.
- Exactly what it says on the tin. There's so much magic going around be it spells or magical objects or magical places and so many little ways for things to go wrong.
- Okay so for this one it would presumably have to be a magic object that he's using to do the casting. But if the alternative is a dead Hawke then Varric both would and probably wouldn't regret the baby outcome (even if it's making things incredibly complicated for him both in terms of politics and in terms of his feelings!
- Hawke pulling out some weird magic or channeling a spirit that helps too much, and whoops now he's knocked up Varric and has to deal with the guilt of that and possibly a lot of complicated emotions if they're still at a really will they won't they point of their relationship.
- There's so many strange magical artifacts that they go by or pick up that really a pregnancy is a lesser possible consequence!
- Varric getting hit straight on with a blast of magic, or run through with a sword. Maybe he's super badly injured, or maybe there's no visible injury. And then they find out that he's pregnant.
- Especially if it's not normal for guys to get pregnant, there's probably so much confusion and double takes and people who are trying to suddenly shift gears to account for this very politically important baby that's about to appear from a very unexpected pair. Sometimes the only thing to do is laugh about it! Or write snarky things about it in Varric's case!
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from rituals or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- If anyone could accidentally do a pregnancy ritual in a world where pregnancy rituals are common it would absolutely be these two, okay.
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from finding them or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- Especially if they find the baby in a dangerous situation! Like, middle of a fight during the events of Inquisition and they end up in a dragon nest and a baby that is clearly theirs (at least on closer inspection) hatches from a dragon egg or something. Or a flower starts growing on Varric's windowsill in Skyhold and whoops it's a baby dwarf!
- Or it happens back in Kirkwall and now everything is all a mess because nobody even knew the two of them were a thing and suddenly everyone is learning that they were serious enough for the universe to grant them a baby that they weren't even looking for!
Dorian Pavus/Pregnant Male Lavellan
Dorian Pavus/Male Lavellan & baby
- Just in general there are so many ways that having a baby could make things go complicated for them. Politically, because obviously, but also just in terms of dealing with the Inquisition (or the closely knit remnants of it after Trespasser) and the Chantry and *Solas*!
- Pregnant Character Continues Canonical Perilous Activity Despite Pregnancy
- The rest of the Inquisition trying to keep Lavellan out of danger as much as possible, but during the events of Inquisition that just isn't possible so he's loading up with protective spells and going out anyways with a worrying Dorian at his back!
- Especially if it's post Trespasser and there's both less reasons for him to have to go out and more danger if he does due to his arm being missing.
- And really it doesn't work at all because if he doesn't go out to do the perilous activity it will find him anyways.
- I just like carrying a lot! I'm a simple person.
- Especially if the carried person is sick or injured.
- Dorian trying really hard while also dealing with the absolute tumult that is his own emotions!
- The other companions "helping", and Dorian taking or dismissing their advice depending on how absolutely out there that advice is.
- Exactly what it says on the tin. There's so much magic going around be it spells or magical objects or magical places and so many little ways for things to go wrong.
- Lavellan is flinging about a lot of magic that he doesn't understand and even the magic he does normally use could be affected by the anchor (and by the pool if he took that option) in ways he isn't expecting!
- Dorian isn't trained as a healer but he definitely isn't going to let that stop him from healing Lavellan (or pulling him back from just beyond death using some techniques he just barely researched as part of his necromancy) and at first he's just relieved that it *worked* and Lavellan is alive. And then they realize that the price for those working was him knocking Lavellan up and whoops now there are many complicated emotions to deal with on top of an impending baby.
- There's so many strange magical artifacts that they go by or pick up that really a pregnancy is a lesser possible consequence!
- Lavellan getting hit straight on with a blast of magic, or run through with a sword.
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from rituals or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- There's a lot of strange old magic that pops up in Inquisition, not to mention the probably very different rituals (or quests or however) that the Dalish and Tevinter would have from each other! Especially if the ritual they complete isn't one that fits with either of their cultures but it worked for them and suddenly Lavellan is knocked up and they need to deal with that.
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from randomly finding them or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- Just like, suddenly a baby in the middle of some very complicated things. Especially if they find it while in the Eluvian or something and at first it seems like surely this is a random baby and not *their* baby and then they look closer and this is indeed their baby.

- Optional Prompts:
- Xie Lian ending up as a sort of fertility god

- Character Finds Out Because Of A Sword That Glows (or something) When Wielded By Pregnant Person
- Maybe the sword glows, or maybe it can only be wielded by pregnant people, or something. Regardless, it's a very reliable pregnancy indicator!
- Especially either HC or everyone but XL knows the sword does this. Or if XL knows it but the fight is way more important at the moment so he's ignoring it.
- I just love the idea of XL picking up a glowing sword and fighting with it while everyone else is freaking out in different ways.
- I feel like even if Xie Lian knew that was going to be the result of whatever spell he was using, he would do it in a second and not feel an ounce of regret if it meant saving Hua Cheng.
- Hua Cheng would use this sort of spell if he had to, definitely, but there would probably be a lot more complicated emotions (both romantically and religiously) on his part because here he is knocking up his god and crossing a bunch of lines that he either isn't sure he's allowed to cross or if it's post relationship and Xie Lian is awake reassuring him that it's alright can barely believe that he's allowed to cross. And all that on top of the panic and heightened emotions from Xie Lian actually getting seriously threatened!
- He's got a lot of things to get done and is sure he can do them safely while pregnant! Especially with Hua Cheng increasingly sticking with him!
- Operative word: try
- Hua Cheng is already going to be the most doting partner that he can get away with being, but Xie Lian being pregnant might mean he can get Xie Lian to *let* him dote more!
- I just like carrying a lot! I'm a simple person.
- Especially if the carried person is sick or injured.
- Xie Lian jumping in the way of a blast of power or a sword or something, expecting to take a deadly blow and survive it like he knows he can, but somehow despite getting stabbed he seems totally unaffected. Then they find out he's pregnant.
Pregnant Hua Cheng/Xie Lian
- I'm also okay with "Hua Cheng/Xie Lian & baby" where it's made very clear in the fic that Hua Cheng was the one who carried the baby.
- Other prompts:
- Hua Cheng suddenly having a very much alive baby to carry while needing to figure out how that worked with all of his magic and shapeshifting and everything, and having to be very careful because he doesn't want to hurt the baby.
- Tags:
- Courting Pregnant Love Interest
- Xie Lian trying, earnestly and maybe a little awkwardly, to court Hua Cheng. Especially if the pregnancy happens earlier on than their feelings realization really did in canon so everything is happening kind of fast (or if it's fully a canon divergence where this is all taking place during that 800 years)
- Pregnancy as a side effect of a Healing/Resurrection Spell (Spellcaster Pregnant)
- I feel like, especially before their relationship was all worked out, there would be so many complicated emotions from Hua Cheng essentially impregnanting himself with his god's child. Especially since that would be all wrapped up with the panic and heightened emotions from Xie Lian being seriously threatened!
- Pregnancy as a side effect of a Healing/Resurrection Spell (Target Pregnant)
- Xie Lian, either accidentally or on purpose, pulling out a spell that both heals Hua Cheng and leaves him pregnant. Maybe it always does that and it was just the only spell guaranteed to work, or maybe it doesn't usually do that and something about a god using that spell on a ghost resulted in some really strange things.
- Pregnant Character Continues Canonical Perilous Activity Despite Pregnancy
- I mean it's Hua Cheng.
- Just like, the whole aesthetic of him being just as intimidating and poised (towards people who aren't Xie Lian) as normal, while also being heavily pregnant
- There are a lot of strange swords in this verse, okay, a lot of them! One causing pregnancy wouldn't be that strange even.
- Some god going after Hua Cheng with a sword stolen from Jun Wu thinking it'll defeat him, but that god slightly misunderstood what it did and now Hua Cheng is knocked up with Xie Lian's baby instead.
- I just like carrying a lot! I'm a simple person.
- Especially if the carried person is sick or injured.
- Just, that whole emotional response. He might be conflicted and complicated about everything to do with Xie Lian but other people? Not so much!
- The happier Hua Cheng is the less happy a whole bunch of gods are going to be. Especially if Xie Lian is clearly also really happy about it and oblivious to the obvious trolling.
- If Xie Lian asked that of him, whether it was just because they wanted babies or because there was a broader issue going on and they needed someone to do the pregnancy ritual for some reason, he would in an instant.
- All babies in this tag means *all babies*. As in worldbuilding where sex and babies are completely unrelated things. Whether they all come from quests or there are dozens of different ways ranging from finding a baby in your garden to going on an epic and difficult pregnancy quest!
- This would be so cute okay, especially if a god impregnating a ghost meant it had to be a very complicated ritual (or it seemed like it should be and was built up to be this whole huge thing and then they got there and they just need to cuddle around a flower for a bit or Xie Lian just needed to paint some things on Hua Cheng's belly with ink made from the very specific stone they found there)

Pregnant Nine Forton/Melissa Podebrat/Yuri Elizabeth
- I'm happy with this either being a happy threesome from the start, Yuri and Nine still being competitive at the start of it, or during the pregnancy Yuri having to deal with her own emotions and sort of figure out where she stands on Nine and babies and being in any way with a man. I definitely want all three of them to be at least determined to be all in by the end!
- Courting Pregnant Love Interest
- They're all so cute and it would make Nine so happy when he realized that Melissa and Yuri were courting him!
- Nine thinking Melissa and Yuri are flirting at first, and then getting confused when they keep bringing him along as a third wheel, and then suddenly realizing that he is actually the focus of these events.
- Melissa 100% would just pick him up if she needed to!
- I just like carrying a lot! I'm a simple person.
- Especially if the carried person is sick or injured.
- Nine needs to try to heal Melissa or Yuri, but because werewolf magic is essentially poison to humans he can't risk using his normal magic on them so he has to improvise either with ambient magic or a magical object. And that having some unintended side effect.
- Same as above, except with Nine hurt and Yuri or Melissa casting the spell!
- Yuri having to panic adjust her magic so that it'll be safe for Nine, and accidentally doing too much and whoops he is now pregnant.
- Removing threats, binning very annoying boys, all of that! There's not much murder in this canon so I'm fine with it being a more abstract removed! Whether that's from Migen trying to cause trouble again, or Peacock needing to be permanently dealt with, or something totally new!
- Melissa and Nine finding out about Yuri's time loop jailor and the pregnancy being the result of them figuring out one way to deal with it--by forcing it to become part of this iteration of their world as a normal person!
- And then of course that leads to a lot of emotions and romance and complicated feelings that none of them are sure what to do with, especially if they don't know if the being will remember what they did or just be an entirely normal baby.
- Maybe related to the above, or maybe it's just way later on in their relationship and this is the next step for them!
- Nestbuilding doesn't need to be a literal thing. It could involve making an absolute nestlike mess of his bed/room, or it could be more of a fortification and building a spot for the baby type thing!
- Poor Nine dealing with wanting everything to be put nicely cleaned conflicting with instincts that want it to be arranged a very different way.
- Melissa finding out about werewolf nestbuilding and very proudly building a nest for them! Especially if Yuri is helping out! Maybe Nine has been resisting his nestbuilding instincts planning to do it the human way and then they surprise him with it.

- If the Sith is in a relationship then I'd prefer the other parent to be that person or for there to be no other parent (the force did it). If the Sith isn't in a relationship then I'd rather there be no other parent.
- I didn't use the "Sometimes the force just impregnates people and this is normal" or "attachment causes pregnancy" tags but feel free to combine those with any of the below if you'd like to!
- Babies Born From Pregnancies Caused By Magic Objects Are Never 100 Percent Human
- There are so many strange force objects that the Sith probably have a bunch of them. Are they used to it and use them to try to get back to the red Sith? Are there good or bad outcomes for this? Is it a stigma that they aren't supposed to use or a good thing that falls into the same category as red Sith for their culture?
- Especially if this is a normal thing, the rest of the Alliance reacting to that bit of culture that they've never encountered before.
- For a grumpy Sith warrior: he's dealing with physical changes and his preferred armor won't fit and everyone is fussing at him (if he's in the alliance) and everyone has opinions that he'd rather not hear!
- For a dramatic Sith Warrior: Just him being super happy about the pregnancy and now everyone has to be involved with it whether they like it or not (or at least know about it).
- The force is really weird and Sith are not good at healing spells.
- I just love any sort of force-based strangeness and mix of prices and traditions and expectations and the ways that dark and light clash. The Sith have so much potential to have a really strange normal where things like this just happen sometimes.

- There are a lot of threats and those threats are probably going to regret it!
- The warrior suddenly going a lot more aggro than he usually is.
- Sith culture where someone having a baby is very dangerous for the people around them because suddenly threats that were safe to make are liable to get you killed and everyone will shrug because the parents are just reasonably removing threats to their baby.
- Sith things, gree things, rakatan things, ancient artifacts that they don't even know where it came from...

But it's sort of complicated especially if he doesn't know for sure exactly what caused the first baby and also he has a cute little baby to take care of at the same time!
- More "Sith" instead of villain or evil, but to the republic it probably looks like the same thing! Do they have established culture for this, or are most Sith parents more hands off so he's having to sort of figure out how being The Wrath of the Empire and also having a baby the primary caretaker for (or primary with his partner) is going to work.
- Just like, full on sith smugness and arrogance and amusement whether the reactions are because men aren't normally able to be pregnant or due to it being a really rare force baby or just due to how brazen he's being about it.
- Whether by just happily going on with his day while heavily pregnant and refusing to pick up on the hints that they would like some more information other than being informed that he's pregnant, or letting people not be sure if he's telling the truth or not, or straight up messing with people.
- Maybe he (and his partner if he has one) has decided it's time for a baby, or maybe there's a wider situation going on that calls for it and he's secretly also kind of happy about the impending baby "drawback"!
- Nestbuilding doesn't need to be a literal thing. It could involve making an absolute nestlike mess of his bed/room, or it could be more of a fortification and building a spot for the baby type thing!

- I'm also happy with "even human Sith are strange" type takes! A lot of them are part red sith so they might not even see it as a bad thing, it could culturally be more of a "this is the right way to deal with a baby" thing. Especially since they have so many enemies and thus reasons to surround the baby with strange sith protections.
- In the Alliance especially it could be entirely normal for one subset of the population and really freaking strange to another.

- PIDW characters finding out they were considered fictional in another world.
- LBH's neglect/abuse by SJ!SQQ treated as another false accusation/rumor. (See clarification section)
- For Liushen *only*: Current or past Bingqiu within a fic for a pairing/poly Luo Binghe isn't in (This DNW is *only* about dealing with the canon relationship. Bingqiu in the background of non-Liushen fics is totally fine.)
- For SXY/TLJ *only*: TLJ being trapped under the mountain for longer than a couple months or giving birth under the mountain. SXY dying and not being resurrected soon afterwards. (If it's a time travel fixit fic where those things happened in the last timeline and won't in this one then it's fine)

- "Requested character" in all cases refers to the character/pairing from my requests that you choose to focus on in the fic. I'm not expecting those DNWs to apply to every character I requested, just the one you're writing and tagging the fic for.
- SVSSS Specific Clarification: Since we know from the book that SJ definitely expected Binghe to die from the wrong manual and knew about the bullying, if that treatment comes up I'd rather the canon situation not be characterized as one of the things he was falsely accused of. It doesn't need to be brought up at all if it isn't relevant, I don't expect any sort of lesson or regret about it, and AUs that cause it to not happen or cause SJ to have a different outlook are definitely welcome! I just don't want fic where it's said or implied that canon PIDW SJ didn't do those things or that it wasn't his choice/fault or that he had a "good" motivation behind those actions.
- Planned public declarations of love that only one half of the pairing knows about ahead of time: I mean things like public marriage proposals/announcements, public confession speeches, announcing the relationship, ect. If the characters have already talked about that sort of thing and the in-the-dark-character is going to react like "Oh hey that thing we talked about is happening now, with no unpleasant surprises that will make me uncomfortable", then don't worry about it! I just don't want them caught off guard or embarrassed by something they had no idea was coming. (It's a big second-hand embarrassment thing for me.)
- Suspicion of Cheating: I mean things like "Are they dating someone else/want to date someone else/slept with someone else/am I a side piece" ect, but not things like "Are they flirting with that waitress". Momentary "Wait wait--oh no that's not it at all" type suspicions are also fine in general, as long as there is no stretch of time where cheating is suspected (for either the reader or the characters)
- V-type poly: What I mean by this is poly where two of the characters are into a third but not each other. I need some sort of romantic relationship for all three legs of a poly relationship, even if it's antagonistic or low key.
- Breakups involving characters in the pairing within the fic: I basically don't want breakup fic, whether that's between both of the characters in the pairing or if it's one character in the pairing breaking up with a prior relationship. It's fine if a canon relationship breaks up *before* the fic and that's mentioned (except for Bingqiu, see the SVSSS DNWs), but I don't want a gift that involves that arc.
- Non-canon permanent major character death: I don't want something where someone who didn't permanently die in canon does so, but I'm fine with characters dying in different ways than how they died in canon as long as the fic is clearly tagged so that I know what I'm getting into. I care a lot less about this for antagonist characters. Kill Corypheus however you want and I won't blink, but please give me clear warning for an alternate Su Xiyan death. There's also probably antagonists who didn't die in canon that I'm fine dying in a fic, but defining exactly where the antagonist line lies is hard so probably double check on those. Exception: If they die and come back in a way that they usually have a form indistinguishable from a normal alive person, such as TGCF style powerful ghosts or vampires.
- Permanent requested character death (even if canon): I don't want any of the requested characters to be dead at the end of the fic. I don't want a pre-death fic that very blatantly references or leads into the start of the plotline of the eventual canon character death.
- Unnamed or OC dead grandparent/great-grandparents: The grandparents in this case are of the requested characters, so dead parents are fine! Please just don't mention the requested characters' grandparents unless they are either named, assholes, or alive. Basically I don't want any requested characters mourning their nice dead grandparents who I don't have a name and a face to put to already. Don't worry about hitting this one by mentioning the many named dead grandparents these characters have or the many asshole unnamed dead grandparents. Please avoid any twists where it seems like the OC or Unnamed grandparents are dead and then surprise reveal they aren't unless it's tagged something like "Baby meeting great-grandparents for the first time".
- Related things to the character death DNWs that are totally okay!: Temporary death. Character mistakenly thinking someone is dead or grieving for a temporarily dead character. Fic where the canonically dead character is dead for most of the fic as long as they're alive by the end of the fic. Dead character comes back as a corporeal ghost ala TGCF or a similar "Basically alive with fancy powers" sort of undead. Pre-death fic that doesn't very blatantly reference or lead into the canonical character death plotline. Pre-death fic that leads into/directly references canonical death plot but clearly sets up a divergence even if the characters don't realize the significance at the time. Time Travel/Time Loop/Peggy Sue fixit where the canonically dead character definitely died in the last timeline but they're averting it this time. Canon divergence dealing directly with the canon death plotline. Not mentioning the temporarily dead character during a canon divergence, as long as it isn't implied the divergence will keep them dead. Character attempting to permanently self sacrifice and being stopped. Character successfully self sacrificing thinking it will be permanent and it's temporary. Character self sacrificing with the intention of it being temporary while knowing it could be permanent (but it's temporary).
